Mancini - "I got it wrong" post match interview

If this was a one-off it would be churlsih not to sympathise with him, and forgive him for getting it wrong.

But it's not.

Every crunch game, every must-win game, he fucks it up.

I can't think of him winning an absolute top-notch game.

I know loads that he's lost...

It's a sad state of affairs when dozens of people on this website raise serious concerns about the team selection, and they get it right while the manager gets it wrong...
Have to agree tonight and what a waste of money tonight was.

All with be forgiven if we get the win on sat. If not then the cabal can get the joining ceremony started.

I genuinely sympathise with you if you went tonight. It's a dear do.

I rarely miss Merseyside games, but with Wembley costing me £400 this weekend, I had to give tonight a miss.

Oh, by the way... anyone interested in a couple of semi-final tickets....

;-))

amazes me how many people can not see what mancini was admitting to, our team cannot function without a defensive midfielder, we started the game without one and the dippers capitalised big style, 1 nil down from a goal that would never have happened had our main dm been on the pitch, yaya was told to play there at 1 nil down but he went awol, hey presto 3 nil down. it was so obvious, dalglish seen it from the team sheet, mancini seen it and admitted to it, it wont happen again

Absolutely spot on have been saying the same for some time that when it really really comes down to needing a result the team and his tactics/signings (Silva apart!) have been left seriously wanting and unfortunately we seem to be heading for the same sorry conclusion ! The problem being that the Sunderland game was out of recent character not the norm and the performance tonight was exactly what we have been used to particularly away from home . Tho I genuinely hand on heart hope, along with every other single blue , he proves us wrong because the contemplation of failing now is beyond even the most pessimistic blues worst nightmares I GENUINELY FEAR THE WORST !

I admire the fact he owned up to his errors but think I would prefer him to do the bleeding obvious and play his 2 most influential players after 7 days rest ! The one player who could have done with some game time is Zab given his absence from competitive matches over the past couple of weeks and god knows we needed his spirit and effort.

i think mancini has accepted that he made a mistake but lets not put it all on his shoulders. just pause for a minute and think about our 2nd game of the season when we battered liverpool 3-0 and our place and look at the team selections below.
The players must take resposibility also

August team
Hart, Richards, Toure Kolo, Kompany, Lescott; Toure Yaya, DeJong, Milner, Barry, A Johnson, Tevez

Tonights team
Hart, Boyata, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov, Barry, Milner ,Yaya Toure, A Johnson, Dzeko, Tevez

Very similar, yet totally different performance. Theres two players from august that mancini couldnt call upon tonight due to injury(richards) and suspension ( k toure)

Just thought this was an intertesting thing to point out and lets not lay all the blame on mancini.

he would of been hung out to dry if he started de jong and silva and they both got injured just like tevez did. So lay off him a touch for the mean time> lol

Credit to Mancini for taking the blame. He is to blame but he could have not said it and dodged the situation.

I hope Mancini learns his lesson quickly and the team put right whatever was wrong.

He may well have been, but there'd have been more of a chance of a vital 1 or 3 points if he did. I'd rather that than tonight's insipid line up which cost us Carlos, while delivering a fuckton of naff all.

I've been 100% behind Bobby, but tonight just made no sense.

So why the fook did DJ not start?

It was obvious when the team was announced that we were going to struggle,it lacked bottle, pace, balance and creativity.
I knew it,and so did most of the forum,so why didn't our inept manager and his useless lapdogs...??
