Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is prepared to let striker Carlos Tevez return to the first team - but only if he apologises for his recent actions.
Tevez's dispute with the Premier League leaders continues to rumble on, after he appeared to refuse to come on as a substitute during City's Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich on September 27.
However, after an internal investigation the charge against him was downgraded to one of "refusing to warm-up", as the club were unable to find enough evidence to support the initial accounts.
Mancini, who originally proclaimed that Tevez would never play for him again after such a display of insubordination, is now ready to draw a line under the whole incident and make Tevez available for selection once again - if he apologises for his actions to the entire squad.
However if he doesn't, then Mancini - who criticised the advice Tevez has received from agent Kia Joorabchian - will make sure he is sold in the next transfer window.
"Everything depends on Carlos. If he apologises to the squad and to me then everything will be as before," Mancini told Corriere della Sera.
"If he doesn't then Tevez has a value that everyone knows and something will happen in January. He is totally unprepared and being badly advised.
"I don't want it to be like this and I would be the first to forgive him."
However, when it was suggested to him that the club might be prepared to offload Tevez for nothing to rid themselves of the problem, Mancini warned: "No one from City will be given away."
Relations between Mancini and Tevez have long been fraught, with the forward recently threatening to sue his manager for his accusations in the wake of events at the Allianz Arena.
