Mancini & Kidd

Sorry OP but there's no way you can know for sure unless you're the Sheikh or Khaldoon and both of them said otherwise.

we need a strong personality to take over from kidd, someone who will connect with our playerslike kidd has and there is only one man who has connected with our players more than kidd did, joey barton.

A good an evidence based observation but so far he has only enraged/engaged with 3 or 4 of the squad as bobby manc would say
he needs to work harder he is young he can improve in this moment

Here we go again - remember last year when Mancini and his staff weren't unpacking.
Hope it's the usual look at me I know one of the door openers threads!!
Kidd's never say die attitude on the touchline when 3-1 down to Sunderland and the belief he showed again on Sunday was inspirational. The interview he gave after the game about Mancini being a great was moving and showed no signs of leaving - would be a big miss if true.

There is no way to prove it on here, as i could get a few people in trouble, but if you know me off this forum i don't mind sharing my info.

On the issue of Kidd I can agree that he might be surplus since Platt arrived, but as for Mancini it would take on hell of an info to go against the words of Khaldoon and Mansour eh?

You sure you ain´t just bored mate? :D

I'd say that was absolutely not the case, Mancini clearly gets on very well with Kidd and respects his input but Kidd is 63 now and he had a brush with cancer a few years back. The job is hardly stress-free (see Sunday for proof!) so if he wanted to retire at the top it wouldn't surprise me.

I think Kidd hardly would love the media exposure it would force on him if Platt wasn´t there, he´s a bit old school I reckon.

I highly doubt that considering the number of years Kidd spent as Slur Alex's assistant. He knows the game better than most and is no doubt better at it than most.

The rumour of him retiring has been doing the rounds for a few months. If he does I wish him all the best. A fantastic man, a fantastic coach, and someone who's presence on the touchline always puts a smile on my face.

Well, it´s a good moment to retire for sure..If he wants to

Brian Kidd is the greastest Assistant of all time. He has won how many winners medals during his time at the Rags and here. He is maybe 1 of the best moves to bring into the club. The 3 of Platt , Kidd and Mancini seem to work well together. If Kidd retires so be it but I would love to see him stick around for another season or 2 as hes the wise old head in our set up and seems to be a calming effect on Mancini apart from Sunday lol.

Totally agree, and to add to it, he's a local lad who has done it both as a player and coach with both Manchester teams, not many can lay claim to that. I hope when he does retire that Manchester recognises this achievment somehow, he fully deserves it, hopefully it won't be for another a couple of trophies though.

Good shout.
