Just posted this on other thread.....Bob's first choice side imo......

.........................Hart........................
..Boat........Kolo............Vince........AK....
.........................NDJ........................
............Yaya.................Milner............
........................Silva.........................
................Carlos.......Balo...................

The day we play this side, fully fit, will be a most joyous day.

Can't fucking wait.

what about this?

.........................Hart........................
..Boat........Kolo............Vince........AK....
.........................NDJ........................
............Yaya.................Milner............
........................carlos.........................
....................Ade......Balo...................

tevez coming from deeper is even more dangerous to other teams than silva coming from that position....he will work harder than silv there as well and is equally as creative

If Ade was incorporated in the side then I think you would see this....

.............NDJ..............Yaya................
.......AJ............Tevez...........Balo........
........................Ade.........................

Hey i'm new :D, Long time Bluemooner 1st time poster.

Think he might have 3 formations depending on team facing and the ground size of the oppoents.

Big teams- We will pack out the midfield and use the skill and pace of the front 3 to counter the teams.

--------------------Hart---------------------
Boateng-----Kolo--------Kompany-----Kolarov
-----------------De jong---------------------
-----------Yaya-----------Baza--------------
Silva-------------------------------------Balo
-----------------Tevez-----------------------

Teams with larger pitches.. Use the wingers to get in behide the defence.

--------------------Hart---------------------
Boateng-----Kolo--------Kompany-----Kolarov
-----------Milner-----------Dejong-------------
Johnson--------------Silva----------------Balo
-------------------Adebayor-------------------

Weaker teams.. Go all out attack. Use the wingers on the proper side with Tevez swapping between a CF and ST to mix things up and use Yaya more attacking to hopfully unlock the 10 man behide the ball tactic.

--------------------Hart---------------------
Boateng-----Kolo--------Kompany-----Kolarov
Milner-----Yaya-----------Baza-------Johnson
-------------Tevez--------Balotelli-----------

His comments don't account for the fact that Adam Johnson was left on the bench for 70 minutes when it was obvious to anyone in the stadium he could make the difference.

lol. He brought him on when he thought it was the right time. Shortly afterwards he won us the game. Get real Dave ffs.

The amount of times we got behind there high line in the first half should have seen us go in with a 4-1 lead, the point is we have plenty in the squad to beat teams without having to play Johnson every game.

And wasnt Mancini sending him a message to Johnson that hes not quite made it yet as an automatic starter and needs to concetrate only on his game instead of crappy auctions to date a slapper with false massive tits?

The reason we didn't go in with a 4-1 lead is that we didn't have enough pace or penetration in a midfield full of slow tacklers. Johnson, or SWP, would have solved that problem.

I don't care about messages, I care about wins.

We got one to be fair, although we were hugely lucky.

lol. Those slow tacklers demonstrated as much in the first few minutes eh.. Clown.

Why?

We're playing fine and winning as it is.

Because after years of not being able to win at all, some fans expect us to win with style every week.
If we play convincing defensive football then I'm more than happy with it if it wins us something. I know, that despite our dealings, we are still weak upfront and playing long balls into Tevez and Silva won't work when they're up against 6ft tall defenders. But I've never seen us control posession as much as we have this season! Apart from the Tottenham game and the Chelsea game, we've had more posession in every game by 10%.

We were poor against Newcastle, but looking at it objectively: we got three points from a game with a difficult surface to play on and our "foreigners that are crap in the rain" managed to churn out a win. If this is anything to do with Tevez... it really shows how much we're willing to bow to him.

I think Mancini is doing more than OK at the moment. He has had to adapt the side, like he says in the interview.

I think a bit of patience from the fans would not be amiss, I mean, he made some changes in the last match, and they worked. We won.

I'm quite calm watching City playing these days. I think we have a very good team and I'm intrigued about just how good the team will become. I found it a bit odd, in the last few minutes of the game last weekend, seeing so many people going red in the face and urging the team to go forward, when the game was won, and we didn't have to go bonkers for the next goal.

We are only going to play a few games this season when everything clicks into place and we watch a tremendous performance. The rest of the time, we are going to have to sit and watch football like supporters of United, Arsenal and Chelsea have got used to over the years.

Confidence in the team, waiting patiently for the winning goal, and when it arrives in the 85th minute, acceptance that it was always going to happen.

It's what title winning teams have done for decades.

I think that's an important point. There is often a tremendous pressure on the team, people start to lose it after 50 minutes if we are drawing. Often sooner. It's kind of ridiculous. If you've watched Spanish football, never mind Italian, you'll know just how many times the stronger team snatches victory in the last 15-25 minutes. In Spain it's usually the 88th minute, unless it's Barca.

Mancini gets criticised for being scared, or 'negative', but I sometimes think the people who say that are the ones who want tactics to be dictated out of fear... fear that we won't find a goal unless we throw big numbers forward, fear that we're bound to concede so one won't be enough.... (strikes me that the two are related)

Sure, Utd, Chelsea and Barca do things differently (I'm not interested in Arsenal, they haven't won any leagues in a long time now). But Utd and Chelsea both went through this stage; their early league victories came by a putting together winning runs comprised of tight 1-0 victories, the goal very often coming in the final 30. Maybe we have to walk before we can run, and beat teams consistently, in order to build the psychological dominance. Once we have that, maybe then we can just play them off the park from the first minute.

I still think there is more scope for attacking play against weaker sides, but I'd probably understand if it wasn't used much, if we keep on winning narrowly.
