Mancini should recieve more credit.

Chelsea have spent just as much and they finished 6th. Liverpool has spent like crazy as well. Hasn't worked well for them at all. Its easy to say City spent money so it's easy to win but Hughes couldn't win a trophy with mostly the same squad. Bayern Munich has spent a ton and has no trophies for a couple years as well.

I cant think of too many mistakes. Every substitution seemed to work to perfection. How many coaches would have put Dzeko and Balotelli on? If not they have no title. Bringing in De Jong for the Newcastle game to free up Yaya. Hoe he dealt with the Tevez situation. Every expert ripped him for not acting like a 12 year old girl that got felt up at the drive-in. But it was the right move. Without him we don't win the title. Nobody wanted the guy at the transfer deadline but for loan, maybe now we can sell him and re-invest that money in the club. Same with Balotelli, everyone wanted Mancini to never let him play again. Most coaches wouldn't have played him. Again if he hadn't they don't win.

Mancini does deserve credit. As a previous post said, his initial effect was to seal the back. Job done, best defensive record 2 seasons on the trot. FA Cup. Next, attack. Again, job done as we twatted multiple goals past anyone in our way. League = won.

The boss knows exactly what he is doing, which makes what he does all the more excellent.

Totally agree Mancini should have received more awards for an incredible season, won the manager of the month award for October 2011 and that's it!!!!

I think only three times in the history of the EPL has the manager of the year award not gone to the winner Ipswhich in 2000-2001 and more recently 2009-10 seaon to Spurs for a top 3 finish and this year awarded to Newcastle for their highest league finish in nine years (ended up being a top 5)!!!!!

We were top of the league for 5 months and finished in our highest ever league position for 44 years, only the fifth team to win it since it's inception. The decision by the EPL bucks all previous trends that first time winners managers win the manager of the year award without exception (manure, Arsenal, Blackburn, Chelsea), I know there's been a lot spoken about the money spent but we've all the stats that our first 11 was no more expensive than yonited's. You could also level that compliant at Blackburn and Chelsea when they won...their managers won the EPL mgr of year award!!!...need I say more.....It's a disgraceful decision by the EPL and should have been highlighted as such by the media!!!

I've never levelled this kind of accusation with as much conviction as I am about to;

RAG!

Why such an accusation? I im in total agreement with what ABU inc GDR is saying. Remember the month, for example, in which we won every one of our games and still Wenger won the Manager of the month? Wenger even came out and said that he was shocked for having received the award for that month. It just bewilders me that Roberto recieves as little credit for his work as he does.

I think the press will take notice if he comes close to winning the Champions League. In my opinion this is Mancini weak spot at the moment.

Unfortunately his record at Inter Milan within this competition was not great either but that just means that there is room for improvement and a new goal to set himself which I'm sure Roberto will strive to achieve.

From FA Cup winners to Premier League Champions is one leap but to then be crowned Champions of Europe would be a mammoth achievement of insommountable recognition. Although the competition has been devalued somewhat given Chelsea's eventual lifting of ol' big ears, it is still the pinnacle of club football.

He was never backed in the transfer market at inter and that hampered any champs league progress. It was only when mourinho went to inter and they spent big on the likes of sneijder,
Milito and eto that they finally got champs league.
He is unproven in cl but with the right backing I'm sure he could win it. Problem you have with the champs league you have to be lucky to win it or otherwise barca would have won it for the last 10 years, so it's not always the best team that wins.

What I found strange was that prior to the United game there was a talk show on the radio featuring a few media types. The opinion was that if Mancini could somehow beat United and go on to win the league then he had to get the Manager of the Year award but if he didn't manage it and Pardew got Newcastle into the CL then it would go to Pardew.

When you factor in that Pardew didn't manage it, him getting the award is very suspicious to say the least.

Also, Mancini's final comment on PL referee's not being as 'good' as the Italian ones may have had a massive affect on ours and United's run-in, more than we care to believe.
