I bloody hope not. De Jong will be better in the long run (that is if we can get him in a couple striker's training sessions).
He'll be looking for an attacking midfielder, a centreback, and a rightback I imagine.
Maicon, Chiellini, Dellafiore, Vargas, Montolivo, Mexes, Taddei, Mancini (love to see him tear defenses apart)and a few others are my guesses.
(EDIT: Before anyone without a sense of online sarcasm slags me, the de Jong comment was a joke.)

Eh, I don't think he is quite as good as Mancini or De Rossi, but I think he is very good.
Would provide some mentoring and competition for Ireland (which Mancini will hopefully use correctly).
i personally dont think he will touch our strike force until the summer, i think the 3 january targets should be... mexes, de rossi and lahm. would all improve the positions that we are currently weak in and all 3 are experienced world class players.
