Mancini this summer

Whilst i love Bobby and how he manages the side i can't help but feel he and the club have handled the summer business poorly.

Waiting till the start of the season to make a signing is just ridiculous.
Mancini slates marwood constantly. Although this may be justified it doesn't show the club is settled at the moment.

Bobby making the whole world aware of his desire to sign rvp (which is bound to make Dzecko feel great), and then loses him to our biggest rivals!!!

There are loads of things that have happened and just worry me slightly and instead of going for rvp (which was doomed to fail from the off imho) why was't there more effort put into strengthening positions that need strengthening? i.e. CB, Fast winger etc.

Perhaps i am just thinking about this all too much and would welcome any opinions

The Rodwell Signing assured me that there is more to city's summer than we know. It broke a day or two before the deal but still took a lot of people by surprise.

I'd be far more worried if Bobby was content at this moment in time.

Just remind me on.When did we sign Sergio and Nasri last season ??
 
Nothing to do with Mancini, he would have had his targets, then it's up to the club to get them. Visibly he has been denied by fear of FFP/Marwood/the board (remove as needed) and said himself City need to be like Real and Barca and make 2-3 big signings every year to continuously improve/freshen the squad.

Actually this is a good point. However the Happy Clappers on here won't allow any criticism of the club - some make this place seem like RAWK.

It isn't Mancini's fault however that our transfer dealers have failed to bring anyone of note in.

Are people really saying that they would have been happy knowing the day after we won the league, that as Champions with just two days to go until the start of the season we would only have signed Jack Rodwell???

If he's asked about him of course he's going to say he's a good player. The fact that we never actually made a bid shows that Mancini has/had other targets in mind (if Dzeko were to leave). We didn't lose out on anything because we were never involved.

Does annoy me a tad how City of late tend to sign players towards the end of transfer window. Not because I'm being impatient or spoilt it's just common sense to try and get a player in during the start of pre-season so he get's settled and is fully match fit for the upcoming campaign. That's my two cents.
