Spurs seem like they need a hard arse manager to instill some discipline and order, he might be good for them.

Ouch that's not good. Every time he made a substitution, the opponents scored within a couple of minutes!

The only way this thread can ever stand the remotest chance of avoiding becoming mired in the inevitable hatefest is for the usual haters to be banned from ruining it.
Now that would show decent moderating.
I'm not holding my breath.

free speech is not available to all, or so it seems.
You're unbanned now Bill. Just couldn't resist. No one's stopping you having an opinion but I've already said I will respect the wishes of those users who solely want to talk about his current job and don't want all the shit that comes with people talking about his time here.

I agree with you. It's gone well beyond a joke now.
Now that's what you call an about turn

Re: Mancini Thread

Firstly, what the fuck happened to this thread??! Secondly, thank you PB for sorting it all out - glad I've been so drunk this weekend that I've missed it all :)) Anyway, onto footballing matters....

Besiktas picked up a very useful point against top of the league Fenrebahce to cement second place for them.

As for Bob, well, he endured what can only be described as a crushing defeat. Getting turned over by Kasimpasa at home is sure to turn bigger sections of the crowd on him (a small section of pro Fatih al Terim supporters are already against him) in spite of him doing a reasonable job imho.

In mitigation, losing Hakan Balta in the 7th minute to a straight red card for a foul on Scarione which gave Kasimpasa a penalty did not help Bob's cause. Gala battled on well for the next 44 mins but succumbed to a goal on 51 mins followed by goals on 64 and 77 mins.

Always difficult down to ten men but whilst they are only 2 points adrift of 2nd spot does that mean Bob bite's the bullet at the end of the season? Well Gala are a notoriously political club so no matter what, I believe we'll see Bob pitch up elsewhere anyway. I just genuinely hope it is not in the Premier League as it would break my heart to see him in charge of anyone but us - but that's just me being soppy and sentimental.

Go back to Italy Bob.

It got moved into the Mod Forum. The point has been made many times that this thread is for those people who wish to discuss Mancini in his current job, not go over the same old tired arguments about his time here.

Either stick to that or the thread will disappear for good, which will be a shame for decent posters like strongbowholic and others who want to talk about these things. I will not let the idiots ruin this thread for people like them. I've changed the thread title to reflect that.

Fair enough, but maybe we should have a thread for his time here as a lot of posters seem to want to discuss that subject. And let's face it he is a City legend.

Just sayin

it appears as it becomes more and more obvious that the club made a huge error is sacking him some members suddenly don't want to talk about him.

So they just hand out the moderator tag to anyone nowadays? Jesus what a poor reflection on the forum.

I don't want to talk about him as I am lamenting the fact that we let him go. He was a successful City manager, the best in recent times.

Thanks for the update - although it's only a two point gap seems like momentum is against him at the moment. Sadly a familiar story!

Don't worry, they knocked me back first time around too.
I actually find it strangely reassuring that even our moderators are prone to the odd factional schism and disagreement - it proves that they are human.
Well, almost human.
Back on topic, it seems that the denouement of Bob's season is one of anti-climax strangely mirroring our own.
Oh well - 'plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose', as some French bloke once said.
