Mancini's 100th Premier League Game

TBH I was very unsure when he joined us

Initially the play for a few weeks was incredibly dour. The nadir being the defeat at Stoke in the cup, where I went ballistic when I came on Bluemnoon when returning.

I was very disappointed with our approach against scum in April that year and three points may well have given us CL. Instead we blew it in the last few minutes and then didn't turn up against spurs.

I started to believe in him as he was able to get 'big' stars in and slowly changed our pattern of play. The passing game at the start of last season was amongst the best in Europe and we went to Munich on an equal footing.

He got the trophy monkey off our backs and that gave a lift to everyone.

Last season he had us set up brilliantly and I felt we should have won the league by more points. In those 19 losses there are about seven or eight we should never have lost in a month of Sundays, and then that would be impressive indeed.

I'm happy with the way the 'squad' is now progressing and not just the first team. We are a couple of years away from a real CL challenge, thanks to FFPR, and I'm concerned that the shackles will hold us back for a number of years, though not Mancini's fault at all.

His only Achilles heel, well two of them, could be his persistence with Mario, although that could be his one great moment too, and his seemingly diffident attitude with players he loses faith in.

Onwards and upwards with Roberto, and I wouldn't have said that in late February 2010.

Serendipitously good appointment.

What a great word that is. I'm going to try to use it more.

Nothing serendipitous about it.
Ofcourse there fucking was. In what way wasn't it?

Do you ever give your reasoning? You are like a hyperactive springer spaniel.

Agree with squirty save that FFPR is yet largely untested and so let's see. Interestingly, Spanish banks have recently been forced to disclose their losses more realistically. It'll be the same in Italy. Open disclosure has never gone down well in these [relatively] corrupt countries and it's bound to take its toll in their big clubs. Just you watch, my good man. I just can't see FFPR lasting in its current form as a lot has happened to euro economies since Platini and his G14 cronies hatched the plan to keep us down.

Sorry to go off topic. If Bobby's here in another 100 league games, it's because we've carried on winning trophies. Otherwise he's out the door, as he well knows. Such is life at the top. However, for now, he surely deserves our full support. Questioning is fine, simply having a pop for unmeritorious and subjective reasons is not. Forza Mancini!

It's been quite a journey. Fundamentally though we are a much better team now than we were when he joined, and that's not just down to us having better players but down to Mancini's coaching.

He has made the club we all love (and hate at times) into the champions of England, for this he will always be a god in my eyes.
