A question I’d like to ask some of them is …”do you think it’s appropriate to come the Charlie Big Potatoes when your rubbishy little club has spent literally 90% of its history outside the top flight?”
Some people have short memories.
Where were we just over 20 years ago?
It's good to crow when you get one over a "bigger" club - we've all done it.
Not every battle is won, it's how you learn to prepare for for the next one.
I was pissed off when we sold David Wagstaffe, but I've now got over my disappointment.
We go forwards.

All this low grade hand wringing is getting a bit boring now, it's a good job there's only 4 days till we can embrace the full swivel eyed hysteria of the match day thread once again.

They’d have to call Cancelo a right back using the same logic as he plays there for his country.

Oh and Walker a centre half too.

Yo Alan, firstly, many thanks for the many intriguing and sometimes affable but blunt posts that you’ve educated and amused me with, down the years - all much appreciated.

I think that you’re missing the point that Cancelo is a left back (plays as a left back) but has played right back an awful lot so is also (and maybe originally) a right back.

Football players are players of football, they rock up at a club and the manager says play here or play there and they play in those positions and other positions as may be required.
They aren’t contractually committed to play a specific roll, they’re both expected and allowed to play in any number of positions and to be recognised as being players in the positions that they play in y’know?
Football’s a team game so it’s not about elevating an individual player by facilitating that players highest level of individual performance, it‘s about tuning the instrument to get the best tune out of it.

PS. I’ve just reread your post and no, you didn’t miss a whisker.
Please forgive my clumsy response.

in their tweet brighton didn´t mention chelsea..it could suggest brighton wants a third party to join/comeback to the table
Doubt it. I suspect it's pretty much done with just a few minor details to iron out and Chelsea jumped the gun a bit. He's still going there.

Mate we were actually a lot worse than Brighton, but I still can’t be doing with their nonsense. City are done with this deal so I don’t know why Brighton’s fans are still here gobbling off. Maybe they don’t realise football is tribal, I don’t come here to be politically correct, I have to be that way in the real world. When im at the football I can shout “fuck off” a lot and lose my shit. Come Monday, I have to pretend I am cool with my clients. Not here though.. Maybe just me…
In what way were we ‘worse than Brighton’? We didn’t play them in the old 3 division because they were in the 4th division!

They drew with Hereford on the last day in the 96/97 season to stay in the league. They then had to play at Gillingham for 2 years as their owner sold the Goldstone Ground.

I know we’ve had some joke years and tough times but we’ve never been in that position.

Think the posters who mentioned the colwill buy back clause are spot on tbf. I’m sure the cucurella deal is all agreed at the reported fee but Brighton will not sign off on it until Chelsea sign off on the separate colwill deal with no buy back clause.

I was referring to their current position ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
