There is definitely a bit of one and a lot of the other, you are right.

Whoever we sign next, and I am convinced we will, it is unlikely to be a long drawn out negotiation, purely because there is a lot less time left in the window.

Honestly, I prefer it that way. I get unreasonably excited about us signing someone out of nowhere, especially if I've never seen them play.
