Fair play to Chelsea. Great fit for them will play as lcb and a wing back like he does at Brighton. Pleased cucurella gets his move but absolutely gutted from our perspective.

We’d look a bit daft if we just caved and paid his price, in my opinion.

That’s straight out of the Ed Woodward school of negotiation, and is the kind of approach that gets you a rep as the laughing stock of the Premier League.

We look like we wouldn’t budge from our valuation - an approach which has avoided some absolute disasters in recent years which our fans were bitching and moaning about at the time.

We should have got to that point a lot earlier in the window in my view - but I don’t have a problem with the decision to leave this one alone.

Bloom comes out of this well - like he had his price, stuck to it, and got it in the end!

Chelsea come out of it a bit scattergun and desperate, and they’ve saved Bloom from a bit of a shitshow in the process - but at least they got the player.

As long as we actually bring in an alternative, I’m absolutely fine with how our Club has behaved here.

I went to buy a car priced at £7250. . I offered £6500 because it was exactly what I needed. That’s the wrong argument to make IMO.

Cancelo is a top class LB and I don’t think anyone should have any worries with him playing there.

The issue is the lack of depth at full back. As it currently stands, we are an injury or suspension away from playing an unproven kid or a player out of position at full back. And with Walker getting towards the end of his careers, it’s not an ideal scenario.

I understand that Stones can play RB and Ake/Laporte LB but no one can seriously suggest that we look a stronger, more fluid side with them playing there.

Cancelo is a top class footballer. Light years away being a top class left back

the criticism (if there is any) should ait till the transfer window has closed....If then we still dont have. left back then rightfully we can criticise the club as it should have been a priority for the last few seasons.

However you would hope tht with a month left we have a plan B and even Plan C to focus on for the left back position as it would be short sighted indeed to sell Zinchenko and not have back up options

Don't agree, the season starts in 5 days, or started 2 days ago depending on your perspective.
