Marc Vivien Foe

Can't believe it's been 10 years. I was 12. Very hard to understand what happened. Sadly we've seen a few players die since, Miklós Fehér, Serginho, Antonio Puerta, Phill O Donnell, some of many.
Brings back memories of Muamba. What a lucky, lucky guy. A walking miracle. We all prayed that day.
By the will of God, hopefully it never happens again.

I remember he signed for us at the same time as Di Canio, great picture out there of them two hugging . He was a class player, I loved him and was totally devastated when I saw that picture of him dead on the pitch.

I will admit tho he was never and would never of been in the same class of Yaya.

I always thought he was on loan to us.....a sad loss, and as others have said some shameful pictures printed by our press.

He was a very talented player and if I remeber correctly Taggert was on the verge of signing him a few years earlier but he then got injured. He was definately on his way out of the Club though, this thread says Portsmouth but I seem to remember it being Wolves.

This really shouldn't have become a petty squabble about his merits as a player, or pointless comparisons with a completely different player from another era.
He was a City player, who left us with some fond memories, who was tragically taken too soon, and we should remember him with a smile, because that's how he played the game.

Great player, and a leader on the pitch. Still gutted about his demise, after all these years...

Great player, I still remember where I was when I heard the news. My dad rang me on my mobile while at my Grandads 'Do you know that Foe player we might be signing this summer after his loan spell? Well I'm sorry son but he's died'
I shot out of my Grandads to my house and it was there on the tele, couldn't believe it.

The next day we got a lift off my uncle (who supports united) to Maine Road and we all put a shirt down outside the ground.

RIP MVF

The post was about a Tribute Dinner but that seems to have got lost any way hope it was a good night

I thought the tribute was excellent, and everyone continued it through a West Ham attack that was possibly their most dangerous of the afternoon. Both sets of fans paid tribute perfectly, not that I would have expected any different from either clubs fans.
