Marco Reus

He's a fantasy football signing is Reus. Sure to excite the whole stadium. Part of me doubts it as he plays the more direct German way than our style, but he would bring a whole new dynamic to the team and also fill two roles - relief for Silva because he creates a ridiculous amount of chances and plenty of goals, eliminating the need for a 4th traditional striker. The competition will be fierce though and I have doubts on whether we can beat Real Madrid (maybe they can sell us Bale if they sign Reus) or Bayern to him, but worth a try.

Settle for that next season?

All big clubs will be in for him. Especially if Dortmund have an avarage season in bundesliga and CL. All will offer great wages and starting place for him.

Have a bad feeling about Arsenal, their German "core" and also London might be enough to take him there. Only trhing is sure he will gof or a CL club (in case he leaves). So English 5th wont get him. (Probably Pool.)

No question about Real, Barca, Chelsea, United, Bayern will all try to get him. It would be huge to get him but doesnt seems very possible.

But certainly thats the way I would be looking for, younger (25 years max.), hungry, ambitious, strong, great players with huge potential to become even better.

Milner is going to leave possibly so that leaves us with even less wide option next summer.

Also therer has to be a focus on younger English players, I hope we already have a list of English players we might go for in case if they have a good season. Of course only if they can be brought in and have a role in the team and playing time too.
We might have to get them early tho like Oxlade or Chambers to Arsenal, or we will face unreal 40-50m price tags for players with only 1-2 full PL season.

There will be lot of world class players 5-7 years later and most of them are 19-20-21 years old now. Try to get them, build them in, improve them, its lot cheaper than just him when we know he is highest quality like Reus and then we face either very high price or another top clubs fighting for one player and he only goes to one of them.

At the moment given the squads age it looks to me we tried to build it to get some huge CL success in next 2-3 years. Thats the next step and until that happens cant see we go for a very different transfer strategy but after that we could be.

Have we ever been linked with him?

Yes. Today.

Arsenal linked with him in the mail too. Looks like there might be a few after reus next year. I think we could probably do with a player or two of that stature next summer

Bayern are my only concern, I don't think/know where he would fit for Real to be honest.

He would be the icing on our cake and would take us to the next level, I make no apologies that I keep going on about this lad, he's that good.

We should throw everything at this player to get him here, Txiki needs to get the Sheikh to raid his piggy bank.

He would fit in Real and take anyone's place but Ronaldo. Madrid already tried to get him over Bale and he is a better player. Scores just as much, assist much more and contributes to the build up.

Reus will only leave to a club that is going to win trophies. Unless Arsenal win the CL or the Premier League I don't think any chance he goes there. Bayern and Madrid are probably the biggest worries along with United if they get top 4. Chelsea is another possibility, but the Arsenal rumours are a joke.

Still I think people are writing of Dortmund a bit too early. If they can keep their players fit then they are stronger this year than last, but it depends on very big IF's. Gundogan needs to recover his old form and so does Kagawa. They still lack a quality striker, but a team comprising of could be great.

Wiedenfeller

Piszeck Sokratis Hummels Schmelzer

Bender Gundogan

Mkhitaryan Kagawa Reus

Ramos

Schmelzer, Mkhitaryan and Ramos being the weak links and that is depending on Gundogan and Kagawa getting back on form.

Now that Real have Bale there's no way they'd replace him with Reus, like I said Bayern is my only worry.

We should try and sign Reus in the summer but there are alternatives. Max Meyer or Draxler, if he gets his act together may be worth having a closer look at if we don't land Reus.
