Marco Reus

I would give an arm for us to get him. I am really worried we won't because once he is off the market, there will be a dearth of world class winger types on the market (Di Maria, Neymar, Bale, Reus, Hazard, Robben, Sanchez will all be locked down) and this sort of player we could benefit from most. If that happened we'd probably have to take a gamble on an experienced player like Pedro, who hasn't been as good lately, or a young one who could end up great or not so great like Depay.

f*** ffp and f*** prioritizing Mangala over one of these.

That's what a lot of us said at the time an got shouted down for by the sunshine pumper. Disastrous summer on par with 2012.

its not disastrous if looked at in the context (of FFP, and the (presumable) fact that we had a strategy behind requirements)

But what really bothers me is that when players became available and we had the budget to get them we chose to go the route of what we had decided before. We didn't show flexibility (looking at Sanchez). Of course it would have meant that we'd have to delay or not get Mangala, but the sales of Rodwell, Garcia and later Negredo (45 million total) would have allowed us to come in for him later. 1 elite player to improve the 1st 11, that was what was needed and we had several available and yet we closed our eyes.

There were rumors right from the beginning of the window that Negredo was to leave. It was the perfect opportunity for the club to let go of an older player and bring a world class, dynamic player that would also allow us to move away from the 442. Yet we dithered and dithered and here we are now

Bang on the money. We have been lacking a player like this since Bellamy, which is shocking for a top side.

If Dortmund continue as they with their league form, this could have legs. Rumours are that the scousers are sniffing around him though after talks over his new contract have been less than fruitful.

Something is wrong within the club, a lot of transfer rumors etc.

Seems strange, especially for a German side, they are usually so stable with ownership etc. I cannot see much other than Lewandowski leaving to have upset the apple cart, but even still, they have so many solid players around him who could cope without him.

I do wonder what is happening.

Probably just sick to the back teeth of Bayern steam rolling everyone, and gutting the sides they can't steam roller until they can. I can't imagine since the CL final that Dortmund has been a particularly upbeat place. Loosing Lewandowski was one thing, but in loosing Gotze they lost one of the best young players in the world. Only so long you can keep selling your best players and patching it together.

The horrible thing is that Reus is available for a very decent fee. Sanchez didn't go for stupid money either.
Imagine a front three of Aguero, Reus and Sanchez. Less than £65mil for the two. Madness.
