Marcus Bettinelli | Signs for City on a 1 year deal

He looked very good in lower divisions and a capable championship 'keeper, but not up to Prem standard when given brief chances.

When he wasn't going to be in the top 2 at Fulham, losing out to Rodak who followed a similar loan journey, he then effectively replaced Caballero at Chelsea. It is hard to judge or scout him in the last 4 years, what level he is at now is a mystery.
He followed big Willie? that’s a cavernous hole to fill

“I know I’ve got big shoes to fill, given what Scott has done here in the past 6 years. If I can do half as much as he did, then I’d be happy playing a game every 6 years.”

Pretty sure Carson was on a one year rolling contract
darren bent is friend of carson he said on radio he'd spoke to him and he's deverstated it's over
everyone loved him staying behind on extra training for strikers and doing stuff nobody see's it's labour of love helping everyone out

There is an outside chance he has to play, so there is always a cut-off point.

That has to be it. Sometimes things just need to change as a change is as good as a rest and he may have unluckily been a victim of it coupled with his age, they are two solid reasons

Strange signing. Do we need a second tier 33 year old keeper who last played 3 years ago and has spent most of his career on loan floundering round the lower leagues. What’s wrong with the accademy keepers when the situation dictates.

Why ruin the career of a young goalie by making them third choice and end up sitting on the bench and never playing unless we have a crisis ? It also doesn’t help the club because they don’t developed and grow in value and may also lack the additional qualities that come with experience. Carson was seen as an extra coach and great person by the sounds of also do young goalies know how to organize a defense when needed in the same way older heads will

Judging by the start of this video, he’s left footed. Looks like it’s a drill of controlling with your strong foot and passing with your weak. Not that it makes too much difference but it’s just a little thing that could mean something.
