Marcus Rashford lobbying govt to help vulnerable children

Like Raheem, yes I think Liverpool fans will show their appreciation for Marcus, it's in their nature.

I’m not sure why you’re conflating two entirely separate issues here when this is about Marcus Rashford only. He may get a round of applause, he may not. He may get a round of applause and then dogs abuse all game - the most likely scenario. It’s just the separation between football and real life.

He deserves a lot of respect for this - that letter was very well written and it was obviously timed to perfection. A lot of thought went into this which can not be said for your average footballer.

I completely agree. And if he’s had help from people who can make his ideas reality then good on him for seeking out these people. Just seems like a really well grounded young fella who’s using his platform to tackle real life issues. I’d happily shake his hand as a man and happily applaud him onto a pitch for what he’s down here. Of course, that’ll only last to the first whistle...haha!

I only said Anfield is known for its "Welcomes"
Marcus or whoever ?

I'm hoping he scores a consolation goal in a 5 _1 at the Etihad before the recently bankrupt Utds new manager , Dean Saunders takes him off so we can applaud him properly and he can prepare for his transfer to the Etihad .

Yes - It's likely he had a lot of people around him working on this as all footballers do. Your average footballer has someone telling them what to put on instagram and someone else shopping for trainers. He picks the people he listens to and the easy thing was not to do this, the credit goes to Rashford however it came about.

I wonder if a defeat was on the cards. This had all the hall marks of Maggie the milk snatcher. Any back bench MP representing anything but the most affluent of voters would have been well advised to vote against this.

Well done to all who applied the pressure.
Apparently a ground swell amongst a lot of Tory MP’S opposing the Governments original stance , maybe a defeat was on the cards .
