Marcus Rashford lobbying govt to help vulnerable children

I was just about to post this, an utter disgrace. The same as the attack on Raheem. How dare a young black working class kid better himself! The racist classist bastards.
My views on his food campaign have already been made known, this is a different subject and really should have its own thread. It is racial discrimination, nothing else, well apart from it is disgusting. Robbie Fowler has hundreds of houses but of course he is white.

Spot on mate. Racist for sure and they hate a working class kid having a few bob, how dare he??

Rashfords wealth has nothing to do with it either, it's shocking four million kids live in poverty in this country and go hungry, while MPs eat well in a subsidised restaurant and claim expenses for everything too.

No child going hungry should be one of them. Unfortunately we’ve got some right wing ghouls in this country who would happily see kids go hungry. These are the sort of ppl who say we should stop foreign aid and look after our own as well.
We should absolutely stop foreign aid and support our own communities first starting with the elderly, infirm and those in financial desperation. It is a parents solemn duty to feed their children and the government allows for this via benefits and income support for those on low incomes . Priorities remain priorities and first and foremost you feed your kids, then you pay for the roof over your head, then you pay for gas electricity and other utilities and then you fook off all the non essentials like debt, sky tv, mobiles, broadband etc. And be ever so nice Mr Baptist by not responding to name calling because as a so called right wing ghoul as I actually do care a great deal and have nothing to gain by espousing what I say. A parents first call of duty is to feed their children. Am I missing something because if I am then you have a solemn duty to tell me how it all really works ..without of course being insulting ?

chill out grandad and read my post again.

Do you want to see children go hungry? If so, you are a right wing ghoul.

Most of us don’t want to see kids go hungry, that’s something a lot of us can agree on. That is the direction of travel.

We may disagree on how we get there, but we all want to get there

I know this thread is about feeding children but ignore that for a minute.
Sterling highlighted how he was slagged off for looking after his mum and yet 2 white EDS players were lauded for doing the same.
Rashford is simply investing his money like Neville or any other sensible person would. The Mail is everything that is wrong with the media at the present time.

Maybe the amount of benefit being provided isn’t sufficient for some families to feed their children, pay utility bills etc. Not sure why you felt the need to put “absolutely stop foreign aid” in bold. They’re not mutually exclusive.

Apparently not the parents. Show me who on here said they wanted children to go hungry and identify the post please. We have 49 pages for you to work on so take your time.

Any parent that neglets or does not feed their offspring should be prosecuted with the full weight of our law if it can be shown that the government has made payment and provision for them. I read your post you whippersnapper and fully understood it's banal content. Feed....your...children. End of:

Daily Mail at it again with their stories. Continuously picking on young black lads
He should know his place. There are plenty of houses to buy in Wythenshawe, I mean, well you know what I mean.
Dorothy, get me a pen and paper, a strongly worded letter to my MP is needed.

The amount of benefit is more than generous to provide three square meals a day Ric unless mum and dad are not budgeting sufficiently. By that I mean priorities and so where as a parent do they lie. And your utility bill example comes after feeding the kids. Its a safety net and a good one at that. We can do some hypothetical calculi if you wish... Our country looks after our infirm, more so our disabled and our children that remain our countries future.

Absolutely stop foreign aid in inverted comas.. as my country men come before the overseas help and assistance. We come first...they come second.

Identify the part of my original post where I said there was people on this forum wanting children to go hungry.

You’ve misjudged this one and gone in feet first, boomer.

I was on the dole for 4 years. It is not enough.

Have you ever had to feed, say, a family of five on Universal Credit? I suspect it’s not as easy as you suggest, especially once you start to factor in new clothes, shoes etc for the children amongst other essentials. All too easy to demonise the most vulnerable for “not budgeting sufficiently” rather than giving them the help they actually need.

But I wager you still fed your kids. It's not enough mate and of that I agree but it is a safety net until such time as you can secure work. A balance has to be metered out wherbye those in gainful employement cannot be seen to be worse of than those not working. Universal credit means better off in work. Nothing intrinsically wrong with that.

No I couldn't. I relied on moonlighting and charity.

Ric I never said it was easy. You run this site so I credit you with more intellect than to label me as demonizing when clearly I am not. And to answer your question, yes but with 4 children. It sufficiently met our needs but we had to budget. Food came first, then the roof, then the utilities and if there was nothing else left then no one else got paid. The figures for a 5 child family on U.C btw currently exceeds minimum wage. If you want to help anyone out then help those on minimum wage by campaigning to raise it over the £10 threshold.

I have no desire to ask of your particular circumstances on open forum. All I do know is that the government figures dictate they furnish sufficient to prioritize the feeding of children acceptably with nothing left over for luxuries

I disagree from brutal experience during the credit crunch. Sweden has a very generous system and people still fill the jobs.

According to the latest figures, there are 4.2m children in this country living in poverty and you’re seemingly arguing against the government providing them with free school meals. I guess we’ll never agree on this, but I find your lack of empathy a bit depressing tbh. The actual cost of feeding them is relatively minor when you look at some of the sums being frivolously spent by the government elsewhere. Agree though that the minimum wage should also be raised. That’s a given.

It's nothing. It's like 10 pence you find behind the settee. If the odd one takes advantage so what. Rees Mogg made 15million out of Brexit. He could pay.
