I honestly hope he is in it for the long haul at us I love Mario to bits only one of his moments has really pissed off and that was the free-kick fiasco with Kolarov against Sunderland. The way I see it is as long as Manicni is here Mario will remain as well!

For me it was the Arsenal sending off.

It's one of the things that makes Balotelli so special. One moment you can be infuriated with him, the next love him.
At least he's doing something and looking like he wants to do something in these games. There have been a few games where he's done absolutely nothing, neither positive nor negative. And I do mean nothing.

But then there has been the FA Cup semi and FA Cup final, the 1-6 and the European Champs semi. All big games, all great performances.

If he can iron out the bull shit, cut out the games where he does nothing and gain consistency in high quality performances then he could be a special player. He's not a special player yet.

I'm not expecting him to play well every week. The only players who play well every time they play are Messi and Iniesta (CRonaldo has poor games. Yaya, Silva, Kun, Xavi, Özil, Benzama, Ramos... all have poor games). Mario just needs to be more consistent.

We need a Louise Redknapp/Mario song since Jamie is so obsessed with our Mario. Tomorrow's Mail back page:

You know what I think has happened?...

Jamie came home from working for Sky one Monday night and walked into the room to find Louise frigging herself off to a video of Mario on the laptop.

That's why he's got a major problem with him.

"She's got a crush
She's got a crush
Louise Redknapp she's got a crush
Mario is in her thoughts
Mario is in her dreams
We all know Louise has got a crush

She's got it bad
She's got it bad
Louise Reknapp she's got it bad
Mario posters on her wall
Saved photos on her iPad
We all know Louise has got it bad"!

Haha. Bent Arry says that he's always liked Balo, and tried to sign him (on loan) before we did.

Surprise, surprise.

Mario Balotelli could have been playing for Tottenham had former manager Harry Redknapp not failed in an attempt to sign the Italian striker on loan in the past.

The 21-year-old on Thursday night guided Italy into the final of Euro 2012 by scoring both goals in the 2-1 victory over Germany.

Balotelli is a volatile character and had a turbulent season, although he ultimately secured a Premier League winners' medal with Manchester City.

And Redknapp has revealed he tried to sign the striker from Inter Milan on loan before he joined City in a £24million deal in the summer of 2010.

The ex-Spurs boss, who was sacked earlier in June, said: "You never know what you're going to get with Mario Balotelli but one thing is certain - he is a major talent. He stunned Germany in the Euro 2012 semi-final and his second goal was fantastic.

Terrorising

"I actually tried to sign him for Tottenham before he went to Manchester City. I'd admired him for a while and I went over to Italy to watch him play. I was impressed and I met up with him, too.

"We wanted him on a loan deal but his club weren't keen and it never happened. Shame, because he's definitely got it and, at only 21-years-old, he'll be terrorising defenders for many seasons to come."

England were beaten by Italy at the quarter-final stage in a game which starkly displayed their deficiencies, specifically an inability to retain possession and inferior technical ability.

For Redknapp, footballing culture in this country has to change if England are ever to challenge.

He told Sky Sports News: "We did okay. Roy (Hodgson) came in at a difficult time.

"We came out of the group which wasn't the most difficult group in my opinion and then didn't play very well against Italy.

Problem

"I don't think anyone expected a lot more but I still think we've got players in this country that are capable of doing a lot better and hopefully Roy will take them on now.

"He's got time to work with the team but I think it's long term.

"Unless someone sorts it out and we start playing and producing people that are technically better and are willing to play from the back and receive the ball and play like Italy played against us where they passed the ball - like the top teams in the world - they are never going to improve.

"The problem is they can set up (the National Football Centre at) Burton and have the kids there and work on their skills and on their technique. The problem is they then go to football clubs and it depends how the clubs play.

"If the clubs are not going to play it's no good having somebody who is going to be the new (Andrea) Pirlo and that kid goes to a club where they are lumping the ball from back to front 60 yards.

"Unless they are going to play through these people and they are going to encourage more and more teams to play football then we are always going to have that problem."

Re: More mario bashing

Nothing new then! Learn to deal with it as Mario has because this lot wont ever give in. Vile bunch of twats

I actually laughed when i saw this headling on Sky last night.

Amazing how its only now he has came out with this "i tried to sign him". No mention at all so far through his City career that Redknapp has said this inc after the Spurs home game last year when he started the witch hunt.

Then again he probably tries to sign 100 players a week, guess next week is "i tried to sign Xavi" or Messi "but they rejected my £15,000 offer.

Hope he fucks off oversees to manage so we can get him off our TV's and press

I'm assuming some of these points have already been made but too angry to read through thread.

Jamie Redknapp has to make a decision. Either be an independent shit clueless pundit in his own right or continue to be a mouthpiece for his widely-hated father.

To use Cantona and Gazza as examples of the type of maverick Mario will never be is entirely correct. To do so as criticism however is hilarious to the point of defying belief.

Has Mario physically assaulted a supporter and recieved a four month ban?

When an individual shouted xenophobic abuse at Cantona he flipped and potentialy derailed his club's entire season.
When thousands of people shout racist abuse at Mario he scores great goals then stands before them defiant, staring down their ignorance.

Furthermore he has never threw a ball at a referee like Cantona did nor has he returned home like a prima donna pussy because England was picking on him like Cantona did resulting in his manager foregoing his summer holiday to track him down and sweet talk him back.

A man who commits violence on a supporter who then flees when people dont worship at his feet compared to a man who receives constant egregious abuse which is never condemned in the media who instead join in with the persecution who stands up and fronts them down with his outrageous talent.

Hmm I think I know which 'maverick' I admire most there.

So Gazza did everything with a smile did he Redknapp? Was he smiling when he repeatedly battered his wife?
Was he smiling when he committed a vicious lunge in an FA Cup final because he was too mentally unstable to handle such a big occasion?
The assault on Gary Charles threatened the career of an opponent on the biggest day of his life. Instead jolly old Gazza fucked his up with his injury and furthermore jeapodised his team's chances in a Cup Final.

Mario meanwhile in his FA Cup final puts in a man of the match performance.

One last point. Your wife Redknapp has the personality of kettle limescale and is woefully incapable of even reading an autocue.
Your family is abhorrent and widely hated in Britain and the day you - you bland Spice Boy **** - and your thick as shit wife and morally reprehensible dad fuck off our televisions and newspapers the better.
