Mario Balotelli

I loved him but glad we got rid. Such a waste of his talent, he could have been one of the absolute greats with a different headspace

I always find it amazing though that in his time with us he only ever registered 1 assist.
I'm sure I don't need to go into any more details of that
For those of you still struggling with this question, the answer is revealed in post......................... #512.

Had a weird dream that this guy scored a worldly for us last night. Reflecting on it just though would it be so crazy to have him back?
He really had it all; strength, skill, attitude, balls of ice.. only immaturity held him back, he really looked like a best in world in the waiting
So maybe if he’s matured a bit and with the right manager at the helm he could finally realise all that potential
Too crazy?!

He's put some timber on has my former favourite player, he didn't have a good game last nite, but also didn't get much service.

Yep too crazy! What is he now, 28? He had some good moments but also too many lazy, selfish couldn't give a fuck games. He gave us some laughs and memories but has never fulfilled his potential anywhere.

He’s got everything in his locker to be an absolute worldbeater, shame he’s got nowhere near that level & not likely to now, Coolest pen taker i’ve ever seen tho

I was at the Lyon-Nice game last week and kept quite a close eye on him. Can't judge a player on one game, especially his first game of the season, but he certainly didn't look as capable as he had on many occasions for us and Inter.

Still had the classic Mario strop here and there along with a few sublime touches. One was a no-look over the shoulder through ball (a little like David Silva for Dzeko in the sick swan) that was subsequently chipped over the keeper onto the crossbar. The other Nice forward who took that through ball and shot, Saint-Maximin (one of the best names in football right now) actually outshone him easily.

For what it's worth Denayer looked really good in that game so that probably tells you enough about the standard of play in Ligue 1. You can see the nearly assist at 1:06 in the highlights package below:

Yeah that pen against Spurs in 2012 when we won 3-2, the coolest penalty ever to say it was last minute, but he was mad as a box of frogs, so I'm glad we moved on from mario.
