Mark Clattenburg

Are people seriously that niaive that they dont think football is corrupt? Really

Despite FIFA being investigated. Despite the head of UEFA being suspended.

A head of UEFA who I may add was strongly supported by our own FA and who had the strong support of David Gill a vice president of FIFA, an executive commtittee member of UEFA and a director of United

Does anyone not see how one might cause pressure to be bear on referees to make decisions that favour one team over another

Because he is a FIFA accredited referee, his employers are the Premier League.

Wit regard to corruption, do you believe that in the most filmed and photographed league in the world that there has never been a major scandal?

Add to this, the most voracious tabloid journalists in the world and it is genuinely inconceivable that co-ordinated corruption is rife in the league.

Tell that to FIFA

No corrupt. If it wasn't for the need to protect the EPL brand and our pompous FA there could be change.

Two group's have either been against technology in the game, or claim it's not needed.
The bookies and the officials.

It's clearly staggering that, compared to other sports, we seem to be so ostrich-like when it comes to putting the football house in order. All things being equal (?) it should have been placed on an agenda by FIFA in '66 when the poor Russian lino, no doubt a relative of that **** over by the East Stand today, saw a different line to the rest of us, and, as soon as technologically possible, put in place in the major leagues. The fact that it is still being debated and clearly opposed by certain football factions, speaks volumes to the fans. Interestingly enough, one dragging his heels the most has now been suspended by FIFA for certain financial irregularities.

No that cnut is a BALD headed corrupt fuckwit- agenda is an understatement- take a look at eriksen's position fro which Serge was give offside three fuckin times in the same same game .
Clattenberg you deserve some serious bad luck - I hope it comes quick and I will enjoy it

Will never forget us cruising 1-0 at Chelsea when he denied Silva the most blatant penalty ever, followed by a sending off for us and a winning penalty for them.

He's a crook.
There was a guy from paddypower or some such interviewed on talksport the next morning after that game. He said just before kick off there was a huge bet placed on a Chelsea win.

Doesn't take much imagination does it...

Tell that to FIFA

Do you mean the organisation that has been expose by investigative journalism?

Do you not think that if there was a scrap of evidence, I mean actual evidence rather than the anecdotal ramblings of unhappy fans that these same journalists would not have turned their attention to the most affluent league in the world?

Tell that to FIFA

It's a bit far fetched though isn't it mate. School kids ultimately play under the FIFA umbrella, are they corrupt too?

Clattenburg clearly is a biased fucker who doesn't like us. But to call it widespread PL corruption is paranoid.

they said all this about the one of the biggest, if not the biggest sporting organisation in world sport

Apart from one joournalist none of those journalists investigated FIFA. Why because you dont bite the hand that feeds you? Sport is corrupt its just we dont know about it. See Cricket players banned tennis judges banned if you think football is immune you are deluded IMHO

There was never any doping in cycling, until the tests said otherwise, and there was never any corruption in athletics until the Russians were banned, and FIFA, Blatter and Platini were clean as whistles until some shit started hitting a fan. We have had corruption in football before - players, officials, people charged with governing the game. I cannot think for long that the game in this country is the only lilywhite version within 'the football family'.

I remember Scudamore the head of the Premier league stating that the Premier league NEED a successful Man United

Now we know football is corrupt FIFA have proven that

Watch over the next 12 games how many dodgy decisions that United get for them and how many decisions dodgy decisions we get against us

I remember just after Scudamore made that statement they released the fixtures for the coming season & the Rags had the 3 promoted clubs in the first 5 or 6 games. Not that it did them much good .They only won one of them.

I have been saying for years if anybody thinks there is no corruption in English football they are beyond naive. The game is bent at the very top why would it not be lower down the ladder? The PL is the world richest league, how can it be that there is not one example of corruption? If it happens in all sports why not football and why not in the league the whole world watches?
That was no mistake.

Many on here were saying "happy with that" or "best of the bad lot" when Clattenburg was appointed for this game. As poor/corrupt as many of the others are, I found this unfathomable given he was in charge for two of our worst shaftings in recent memory (the Candlepool game + Spurs earlier this season). The guy is an out and out crook and always has been. The way he immediately pointed to the spot was almost compulsive - would have looked strange even for a stone-dead penalty. But for one as questionable as this, it really leaves little doubt that he was out to gift Spurs the game.

I also wouldnt put it past him to deliberately not book Toure early on as a smokescreen for fucking us later by booking Kompany (far more important yellow than Toure), the penalty, and several bogus offsides by his assistant. I am definitely not normally a conspiracy theory, but I am struggling mightily to come up with any other explanation for what I saw today.

OK, even if we take the premise of not wanting to 'bite the hands that feeds you' (nonsense by the way, the exposure of a corrupt referee would be the biggest UK sport story and one of the biggest news stories of any year).

But let's suppose that this is the case and that all the UK journalists are xowed by the power of the Premier League, wouldn't there be a single German, Italian or Spanish journalist prepared to take on the evil empire/ Surely, these countries have a lot to gain from the implication of English football as corrupt?

What doe these people have to gain by maintaining their silence?
