I want one question answered;

Is Mark Hughes worth all of this, all of the endless bickering, the destructive dividing force he creates among the fans?

If it wasn't him I suspect it would be someone else.
I really don't think so if we had Jose Mourinho in there wouldn't be this witch hunt purely and simply its Hughes rag past but no one has the balls to admit it's the real reason

I'll admit it, so long as you admit your real interest is not what is best for City, but what makes you appear sagacious.

I might be wrong, and i dont know if its been brought up before but....

Does this situation with us now not remind you exactly of what happened at chelsea soon after abramovich took over ??

Ranieri getting the boot for Mourinho after a slightly above average season for chelsea fc (having had the chance to buy his players, same as hughes)

From what i can remember, the fans were 50/50 (?) and the media slated them for giving him the chop, but once Jose came in the rest was history!!

Another one so obsessed by the rags they can't possibly think of another reason than his past why people aren't happy with his efforts this season.

......Are ONE SEASON into a complete rebuilding programme. The manager is only TEN MONTHS into the job and has only had the benefit of a few days of the summer and one complete January transfer window to improve a team that had won only a handful of games in the previous six months.

We must have spent over £40m before the takeover, not sure why this myth that he's only had a transfer window and a day to improve the squad.

And given our best player this season was already at the club, and our best run this season has been in the past few weeks with half the team already at the club when he took over I'd say more a long term refurbishment than a rebuilding. We had a solid squad here, more than capable of finishing in the top 6 or 7 with a few additions and a good manager.

Ranieri did get Chelsea into semi final of champs league but was going to be replaced even if they won it.
What should Hughes minimum requirement been this year??
7th spot and a good UEFA cup run imo,
Is 1 out of 2 enough?

If we were to finish 8th he will have done as good as any manager we have had while in the premier league and a 7th place would make him our most successful. It has been said many times on this forum that patience is the key and the most successful clubs have been the most patient with their manager in troubled times. We as a team are light years behind the likes of United, Chelsea and Arsenal in terms of experience at the highest level but we are closing that gap and with the addition of 3 or 4 quality players in the summer we will get even closer. I would think that we will be ready to challenge the "big four" by 2010/11. All I would say to the doubters is it will come, be patient and enjoy the ride!

Well said DB.

Blue Moon still rising.
