Why do people keep starting thread like this, everyone knows it will end up a Hughes in or Hughes out topic and then when it does both sides will start blaming eachother? The facts are that we have been back in training less than a week following a season when many people wanted him fired, how is it that people will change their viewpoint before we have even kicked a ball?
I havnt changed my viewpoint, i was just hoping , that maybe we could change our ways and get behind the manger and trust the club would do the same...

ok i know its been done before, why oh why wont some blues GIVE Mark Hughes credit.
with the timescale hes had , some want him out, i hate this knee jerk reaction everytime thing dont go according to plan..
give the guy 5 years then judge him buy the results of his hard work...FAR too often mangers have been sacked, if its one thing the sucessful clubs have its stability.
nobody said we where gonna role up and win trophys . the club is in a healthier possition than it has everbeen in the finance dept, we have been a laffin stock for years its only since last season when the arabs took control that the football world was rocked by the news that MANCHESTER CITY, where going to be playin with the big boys, he who pays the piper!!!!!
LETS STOP ALL THE NEGATIVITY THAT HAS BEEN OUR DOWN FALL ON TOO MANY OCCATIONS IN THE PAST.
LET THE PRESS SAY WHAT IT WANTS, ffs thats what papers do, coz it sells papers. we are all blues brothers and we should all sing from the same sheet, we know we are going to the promise land, it will happen sooner if we are all positive, and stay possitive even when the clouds gather, if you truly belive it can happen , then get BEHIND YOUR MANAGER , and give him all your support, i dont give a flyin fuck, about the past, its held us up and stopped us moving forward at a pace that would turn our club oarround, we the bus is heading inthe rite direction , ALL ABOARD ALL THOSE THAT WANT TO ENJOY THE RIDE, to those that dont want to come along for the ride, WHY ARE YOU ERE?
totally agree it aint gonna happen overnight
I agree with the needing time stuff BUT as another poster said he isn't going to get 5yrs to do the buisness.
I'd say 5th or 6th & a Trophy/or a final would possibly get him another year this season, but the season after this a top 4 spot will be an absolute must for our owners.
I may be wrong but i the suspect our owners have set these targets for the next 2 seasons.
As said on another thread we are struggling to get the TOP TOP players, but the top 4 in our league wouldn't be able to get the players we are going after either.

Hughes is like most managers, if he is clearly successful more people will back him, if he is not then fewer will. The problem Hughes faces at City is that there are a group of people that simply don't rate him as a manager(I would consider myself in that group)and with the expectations rased within the club, that group will be around for quite some time, regardless of any short term success.

people are entitled to their opinion on the manager either way and as for giving hughes credit!! what has he done?

I'll be backing Hughes this season now that he is shaping his own team and getting all the personnel in place that he wants. He has been give ample transfer funds and the owners and board have been very patient and let him get on with what he keeps saying in the media "he knows exactly what's required", etc. With the squad we have now, there is a definite chance of the top 6 and to go on some good cup runs. Anything less than that and I don't think the fans will be backing him. Last season may have been that old "transition" stage, but this year he has no excuses if we continue with the dismal away form or without any sort of consistency. At times last season we looked like world beaters at home in some matches and like we should have been in League 2 in others. If he can get the squad performing on a consistent basis then I think he's answered his critics, but can't help thinking that without a top 6 finish or qualification to Europe then he's on very thin ice.

You're deluded if you think the owners are going to give him 5 years to get it right, let alone the fans.
may be i am but the fact that the more sucessful managers are working for more than a couple of seasons, you dont build a house without making sure the foundations can support the building.

People get time in the job because they are good managers. They don't become good managers because they get time in the job.

Hughes to date has got the credit he has deserved, which isn't a whole lot. When results start to improve he will get a whole lot more credit.
