Marks & Spencer Christmas advert taken down

I think we are talking cross purposes. I'm not assuming they are supporters of the current government, but they definitely aren't woke, or aware of injustice to their neighbours (and moved to do something about it) if they are e.g. liberal zionists.
Why can't you be pro-Israel, while also caring about injustice?

When is a company etc going to grow a spine and stand up and say “fuck you they’re traditional christmas colours always have been always will be so go and get fucked you fucking wokers and all you that are offended by anything and everything”. Honestly I’m at a loss with this country and fucking world. What will it be next? Ban Santa because he’s portly or ban reindeer because of their colour? Jesus fucking christ alive stop the world I want to get off right now.

I am buying all the green and red hats in crackers that I can find, could make an ebay killing :)

They don’t rule it Jim, but these minority groups sure know how to influence and punch over their weight. Normal people just getting on with their lives haven’t yet figured out how to deal with gobshite obsessive activists - be them on the left or the right of the political spectrum.
I totally don't believe this but..... could this view/opinion have been instigated by a bunch of anti-semites given that M&S is an organisation that (not sure if it still is) started life as being of Jewish origin?

Call me cynical. But I wouldn't be surprised if M&S knew exactly what they were doing here.

Not when they first shot it, obviously.

But when they decided to cut it out of the video, then post it in isolation as a still online, then quickly aplologise and remove it, while making national headlines.

There are focus groups that go through every angle of every bit of PR, no way everyone misses the incidental chances of that image before it goes out online. While conveniently not being in the video which everyone now wants to see, and share and talk about.

You were much better in your butter phase mate.

You seem pretty offended yourself mate haha. Pretty sure they changed the original colours to the current one as a marketing strategy for coca cola anyway

Worth pointing out that the ad itself hasn't been "taken down", as far as I'm aware. They just deleted a single Instagram post with a still from it. Not that I really give a fuck either way. The faux outrage about both the post itself, and about it being removed, are equally tedious imo.

It is maybe a stretch on my part to suggest M&S would have known what thet were doing, in an advertising effect capacity.

What I don't think is in the slightest bit a stretch, is that the media know exactly what they are doing and how they present this to their audiences.

Wokeism and snowhflakery reactions aside, they will know fine well some will take this little non event as an 'attack' on christmas, tradidions, uk ways and values etc. And they will happily watch it happen. 'christmas advert pulled due to complaints'. 'tradidional colours unacceptable' - the hats were traditionally gold to represent crowns, and now come in any colour imaginable. They will milk it for every click and rage-share they can get from it. And embedded adverts that come with it. Intentional or not, it is now one big PR stunt.
I am imagining the M&S board watching the Hamas attack, reading all the news from Gaza, and seeing the hundreds of thousands of people marching through UK cities, and thinking, "let's have a bit of that for our Xmas ad"!

*And yes I know it was probably filmed well before, but if it was intentional, they've had time to think whether it's the best idea.

ps. just re-read your post and realise it's directed more at the media. Media jumping on any click-bait shock-horror aren't we all offended/offended at being offended/offended with all the arguments about offence, is certainly not a surprise.
