I think he got off lightly with 18 months. He groped and assaulted a female student in a public place breaking her nose in front of everybody and then instead of admitting it wasted everyones time claiming it wasn't him. If he wasn't famous he'd have got longer than that.

My sister got her nose broke once by a white guy.

This. 9 months inside for an unprovoked attack, smashing a woman in the face and causing actual bodily harm???? He should get 5 years for this in my view. (Emotionally, I would say 10 years, but I am trying to be reasonable.) Looks are very important to women (obviously) and think of the trauma she's been through, and potentially might be reminded of every time she looks in the mirror.
