Talksport entered the controversy surrounding the impending release of Marlon King yesterday. The ex-Wigan player has been serving a sentence for punching and breaking the nose of a woman who spurned his advances in a night club. He also has a string of previous offences to his name. The discussion surrounded the possibility of Coventry signing him up after his release, and the presenter was up in arms, saying footballers are role models, King is on the sex offenders list, and no club should take him on.

All well and good until the commercial break, when they advertised the forthcoming Premier League coverage, which will be co-hosted by Mr Stan Collymore.

Remind me again what Mr Collymore did?
He beat up Ulrika Jonsson in a bar in Paris - not to mention his dogging activities.

Right. So not on the sex offenders list then? He is odious and hit a woman but to compare him to King is a bit over the top mate. Though i agree about the double standards. You don't get that on Radio 5 live.

I'm sure Collymore has also worked for the BBC. And Geoff "It's every man's right to discipline his wife" Boycott!
