Because he cost Everton 16 million and he has improved massively since joining them, he doesn't want to leave yet, he has a while left on his contract, he has become one of the best CM's in the Premier League and because of this he will cost at least 30 million. Unless he tries to force through a move we will never sign him.

Is there a better natural successor to Yaya? this lad is pretty much unplayable when on his game.
If we did manage to pinch him i could only see him improving with the talent around him.

He is 24 years old has a contract till 2016 (?) and when he does leave if he cant continue with the quality of performances we see here in the EPL he will have choice of any club he wants

Clearly on top his game at present.
Everton have always been a side that if injuries and suspensions go there way they can be a handful for most sides on their day but lacked the consistency to challenge higher than the fringes of Euro bar the year the finished fourth.
They are well organized and like him or loath him have a good manager when it comes to organizing that side.
