Marriner takes charge of final

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Isn't this that RAG **** from Wythenshawe?

A few claim to know him as such.

I mean, seriously, a lad growing up in inner-city Manchester with a supposed no affiliation to red or blue?

But likes football just enough to become a full time fucking referee!

Altrincham fan, yeah, sure you are.
There's a few Wigan fans worried that, because of his Wythenshawe location, he'll do things in our favour. Funny really.

good ref and quells what I worried about on sunday which was Halsey in charge and then we have a role reversal of the Gillingham final with Wigan getting last minute revenge for the play-off semi.

not worried about Taylor he's refereed us plenty of times and bar the odd call(which you'd expect) has never been bad and what's more he's only 4th official.

Should be alright being only 4th official. All he can do is add injury time. Hopefully Mancini will give him a right ear full even when we are winning.

The ref decides on the injury time

All this about the 4th official, lol.

I'm going for Marriner to get 'injured', meaning the 4th has to step up to the plate. The linesman look dodgy to the point their rubber masks come off to expose they are infact Ryan Giggs and Nani, which explains Wigan's 5 penalties so far.

Not like you to jump in with the 'agenda' inference Pigeonho lol.

The fact that some Wigan fans themselves (according to Bob) can see a possible conflict of interest shows that it isn't just us, and for what it is worth, knowing Wythenshawe as I do, I personally think they have grounds to be concerned, no matter who you support, or claim to support, if you grew up there, you are sure to have a leaning towards City or united.

it's alright, he's reffing United on monday.

-- Apr 17th, '13, 15:11 --

4th official is meant to provide a 2nd opinion and timekeep on injuries/lengthy stoppages to ensure that the ref whilst dealing with incidents gets an accurate number as(and I've done this at grassroots) you're dealing with an incident and you realise after you haven't stopped your watch or in some cases the game carries on quickly and you forget for 20/30 seconds to switch it back on again.

It happens, which is why the 4th Official now timekeeps as well.

I know mate our kid is a ref, just saying Anthony Taylor cant really have much effect on the time other than trying to influence the referee (which of course the ref can choose to ignore)

A question for those who’ve already started playing the “Taylor is a Rag” and/or “Taylor shouldn’t ref any City or United games because he’s from Altrincham” cards...

I’m sure Taylor is proud to become a top flight, professional official and would love to referee the big games. However, on the basis that’s he’s an apparent Rag, what would your suggestions be? I mean, since he could influence games involving City or United in United’s favour, would you say to him that he can’t referee ANY game that has a direct effect in United’s campaign? That could be United games themselves, games involving City if they’re challenging United for the title. Heck, even games against Chelsea if they’re challenging for the title also. Presumably Liverpool games would be out of the question too, as everybody knows United fans hate Liverpool?

That doesn’t really leave that many games he can be involved in does it? Spurs v Arsenal the highlight of his Premier League refereeing career?
