Atkinson was a typical english ref .... horribly inconsistant.

booked Kompany for his first foul but didnt do anything for the 10 carbon copy fouls after that. (Kompany has to stop those charging from behind challenges, he's been doing them all season since the community shield and always commits a foul)

yet Agger did the same on Aguero, took him out from behind and not even a foul.

Adam, Suarez, Kuyt, Downing Henderson, Lucas all going to ground as soon as someone breathes on them, ref should booked the first one, then the rest would stop doing it.

Balotelli's second yellow, ref blew for a freekick, that was that until several Liverpool players berated him to show a yellow. yes it was clumsy, and his arm struck his face, so could have been a yellow, but was no intent from Mario, so just learn from that.

But overall, the ref was bad, for both teams, he needs to get to Specsavers and get back to referre school (if there is one ... cos i doubt there is judging by the crap refs we have all over the place)

English refs are inconsistent or they are allowed to use some good old common sense unlike their robotic UEFA counterparts who flash cards and stop the game for any little thing? FIFA and Uefa think football is a non contact sport and therefore fall for any "typical contintntal simulation" ;) Atkinson is just a bad ref and bent - end of

I can't believe that Kompany stayed on the pitch - if Atkinson had been consistent, he should have gone for repeated fouls. Unless Suarez was feigning it, in which case, he should have been booked several times, and then sent off for his over the ball stamp on Kompany's ankle. Either way, Atkinson was shyte.
Breathe anywhere near them and they went down. Ours - silva and aguero in particular -were clattered and how many times did it go unpunished?

gallhager is on sky,s payroll, he has tosay what they want him to say.

I usually like Gallagher's monday morning reviews, although I didnt see it today. He's usually willing to say when he thinks a ref has got a decision completely wrong, but not surprisingly he rarely criticises them over a judgement call. He was never going to criticise Atkinson over Balotelli's 2nd card.
