As opposed to just telling the truth ?

It was a number of circumstances leading to that goal, I suggest you listen to the manager take on it and not another so called expert venting his spleen on a city player he constantly has a go at

I don't need to listen to the manager, I watched the game.

Is Keown right about the tecnical point he makes re Demichelis' position or not ? Is he telling lies about what position players are trained to take ?

The ball was lost to a foul on Navas the other defenders were coming out Kompany stepped back unless MDM has eyes in the back of his head I'm not sure what he is supposed to do. Did Kompany shout to MDM I don't know

Quickest centre half sets the offside trap and sets it off as well, as for what he's said it depends on the two, MDM and VK will have discussed this before the game and most likely they couldn't have played offside together with the disparity in speeds. Also Vinnie would run him into the ground if they were to stay level all game.

So instead of that, it's the best idea, to leave a fucking great hole in the middle of the defence for Messi to run into? They decided that would be the plan & Keown is talking bollocks ?

Does anyone think if Lescott was playing the result from that position would of been the same I only ask as I think Lescott has great positional sense which is good for him as his pace is not great.
I wouldn't of played him from the start last night but its more than likely he will start at the Nou Camp so we got to have some faith in the lad

Actually my guess would be the plan was for Vinnie to step up and play him offside taking him out of the game temporarily, which worked every time but 1, due to either a lack of concentration or Vinnie not hearing a shout, or Zaba losing Fabregas, take your pick.

Not MDM's biggest fan but I think a lot of fans are being too critical of him. Any of our back-four could have given that penalty away.

Time to put it behind up and move on.

The plan is not for Vinny to be 1v1 with Lionel Messi ffs!! How is that going to work for 90 mins??!! We are supposed to have a PAIR of central defenders. One of them fucked off & when the move broke down, was in no position to do his job. He was watching the ball, rather then considering the position of his partner. Which is what Keown is talking about.

Vinny did play him offside, but he came back on again & because there was no 2nd central defender in position, had a run on goal.

Which defender are you referring to here? neither of them are looking at Messi or each other.

Demichelis came jogging down the pitch, watching City going forward, ignoring where Kompany AND LIONEL MESSI were. He suddenly realised when Navas dived, that Barca had 2v1 on Zabba, Vinny had Lionel Messi running in behind him & he made a desperate attempt to run back where he should have been, then kicked Messi over & spewed us the game.

That's your opinion, it was obviously part of our tactical approach last night that MDM squeezed the midfield and pressurised passes (as it has been in other games this season) so I wouldn't say he was jogging down the pitch. For me, Navas, Vinnie, Zaba and MDM are all equally to blame and it was a great run by Messi.
