Martyn Margetson

At the game,i think we lost 3-2 or.Pollock scored an own goal,Margetson gifted them one and that honey monster Ruddock scored another.

2-2 it was,match report here.

Seem to remember being 3 – 0 down to some one at Half Time and at home. Margetson was substituted during the break which is pretty unusual to sub your keeper for having a bad game. One of his early games I think.

Never had mush confidence in him after that.

Wolves away, sure it was in the season we went down to the third flight. Paul Simpson was playing for them and Super Kev scored a cracker from a free kick.
A corner comes over, Margetson leaps like the proverbial salmon, catches the ball impressively in mid air. Good catch, I thought.
Then he landed on his feet and promptly dropped it into the net.
I think we ended up drawing 2-2 but I realised then that the game was up. We had the mark of death on us that season.

didn't margeret margeretson play in the 2-5 demolition by everton on the last day of the season in the early '90's? if my memory serves me, i believe he got took off at half-time before he could cause anymore damage.
If I remember rightly, weren't all four goalkeepers used in that game?
Margetson was by far the worst City keeper of all time (forget Simon Treacy's game).

Second to last. We played, and beat, Stoke the week after and went down.

I was there for his debut at the Swamp - when Giggs didnt touch the ball but still got credited with the only goal.....

I recall THAT QPR game (last match of the season) when QPR were awarded a direct free kick in the box. Margetson had the ball. Immediately the Rangers player asked him for the ball. Margetson duly obliged before any City player could organise a wall or mark etc. Rangers player put ball on the ground, tapped it to his mate who smacked it home......
All he had to do was hold on to it or roll it away from the player demanding it....

Ah yes, you are correct..... is it the same game with the Jamie whatshisname own goal?
kinkladze scored a great goal in the first minute of that game. the crowd was really up for it aswell. unfortunately two comical errors cost us and we drew the game 2-2. i think uwe got our equalizer.
