As I got older I felt guilty about wanting Leonard to beat him.

I’m not a massive boxing fan, but he transcends the sport. I’ll never forget that night he came over here and beat Minter. What courage he showed; and I remember the shame at the abuse he got at the end from the crowd.
As others have said, a true legend, RIP Marvin.

Sad to hear this. Boxing is a brutal sport but what a warrior he was. I’ll always remember his fight v Minter when he absolutely thrashed him. And then the locals rioted. LOL

Sorry to post again, but this lad was the Manchester City of the Premier League.
Everyone wanted him to fail cos he wasn't the Man Utd (sugar ray) but he went and twatted everyone, mostly in their own backyard (Alan Minta etc).
9 mins of boxing (almost 9) with Tommy Hitman Hearns will and rightly so be remembered for the greatest fight of all time.
Was lucky enough to meet Tommy in the MGM Vegas prior Ricky's fight with Mayweather, and he said Marvin was King.
