Mary D's landlord moaning about City Square

my advice to the moaning rag is go in the Townley and ask them how to run a match day pub

I for one really like City square and don't mind paying a few bob more as it is going straight to the club

mary d's has always been run in a manner that takes the piss out of city fans piss poor beer sold at top prices to line the pockets of a greedy rag

I think phil is a side issue you either love or hate him and too much rubbish is spoke about the mvnich thing on this site anyway this site has shown many many times that it doesn't represent match going blues many of whom gladly join in with the mvnich chants

if this site was a true reflection of match going fans the chants would have stopped by now

Yeah, I'd have to say The Townley is about the best of a not very impressive bunch of boozers in the area.

City Square is bang on apart from Hugh Ferris but as you know it's not the easiest task in the world trying to get the Aldi Can Brothers to go there!

Quite like City square myself,driving to quite a few games,or just driving to Penrith to travel down with the Carlisle branch,doesn't allow any alcohol for me,so it's an alternative to sitting in a pub with a soft drink watching everyone else necking ale.

There should be an area for families to sit before a game,not everyone wants to drag their kids through a packed pub,where you can't hear each other talk for loud music.

The big screen showing our previous game highlights is a good idea.How much money does this guy want to make?i was in before the Reading game,around the time when the semi-final draw was made,and you couldn't even get to the front door,if anything serious had happened in there,and people needed out quickly,they'd have been fucked.

Townley for me if i have to drink anywhere before a game.

Is Phil back on in there? I used to drink with him in Didsbury,my mate and his Mark used to knock up and burn off the cd's he used to sell and play in there.

He is as mad as a hatter though,won't tone it down for anyone and a big blue.I think he got banned for a while from the ground for some argy bargy.

I haven't seen him in ages,i think he settled down with a bird.
