Mary Ds / trouble at The Townley

I know a lot of people involved in the fighting in the 80s and they told me the buzz they got out of it and I was never an angel in my teens in normal life

But for the life of me I just don’t understand the need for someone to kick fuck out of others because of the team they support

As much as I hate the Rags, dippers etc I couldn’t go out of my way to twat them
The 70/s 80/s was a different ball game my friend you had to have numbers you would have got cut up, the pussy mibs today would be on there mums knee’s breastfeeding if they were around back then

Not sure. Probably about 3.30pm. Can’t be accurate.

The MIB’s came down Hinckley Street. The Police blocked them off at the bottom of Hinckley Street, opposite the Townley, and pushed them back down Hinckley Street. At the same time they surrounded the Townley and blocked off the City fans from crossing the road.

The MIB’s then ran down Hinckley Street, did a left, and cut through the park, coming out on to Albert Street. The Police moved over, blocked them off, kept City fans back, and pushed the MIB’s further down Albert Street.

The MIB’s then ran down Pilgrim Drive, into the estate, regrouped, made their way through the estate, got to the ginnel, and tried to attack the City fans outside the Townley from the ginnel. Couldn’t see what exactly happened, but I could see loads plastic pint pots and beer flying over the fence. Sure the Police would have piled into the MIB’s as well.

The MIB’s then ran back up the ginnel, did a left, ran through the estate, and made their way to the corner shop and attacked it.

On Serious note. If you about think what the MIB’s did, attacking 2 seperate pubs, regrouping, having a free run of 2 separate estates, it was a poor show from GMP, considering they were tracking the MIB’s, had spotters out, and had numerous officers on foot, on horses, and in vans all around the area.

I’d say there was 30-40 MIB’s max. Quite a few scrotes, along with some proper heads. It wouldn’t have been too much trouble to corral the MIB’s on Hinckley Street and march them out of the area. We‘re not talking 100’s of United’s hardened MIB’s/Hooligans.

My lad and me were lucky to have missed all this yesterday, seems by minutes. We park on Rylance St just down from the Corner Shop pub. Walked up there and past it just after 3:30 but all we saw were police vans speeding up Albert St, chasing shadows. Then on Ashton New Rd about 20 in riot gear all stood doing nothing. Thought they were just their in case it kicked off but seems like they were in the wrong place .... again !

A few seasons back i was drinking with a few bluemooners in the Grey Horse after the Burnley game. I got pissed and fell asleep(in there) and when I woke up i realised the lads had gone but i was surrounded by about 10 mibs who had been to Chelsea.

They soon sussed i was a blue and started taking the piss in a patronising way. I said to the gobbiest one to pipe down or I'd twat him. He looked a bit taken aback and started getting giddy that a lone blue had had the bottle to stand up to him. His right hand man looked of a handy **** so i looked at him and told him if he started he'd get a smack too and i could see in his eyes he was only hame because he had back up. I said I'd probably get battered but id hurt a few going down fighting

By this time i realised the Dutch courage was wearing a bit thin and my arse started twitching as i was the only blue still in the pub. I managed to keep my calm and look them in the eye and the 'leader' piped up - "you're not bad for a blue bastard I suppose!" I told him i was just having a quiet drink but wasn't going to be bullied because i was on my own. He offered me a drink but i told him to fuck off before drinking up for the last train home. If i hadn't shown bravado I'd have definitely got a good hiding from them.

@krswanny I wish you and your lad a speedy recovery pal. I just hope they get a bit of bad karma for what the cowardly cunts did.

You quoted the 80’s and trouble I was just stating it was a lot worse back then, as for you have never seen anyone get a slap who wasn’t looking for it you must have walked around with your eyes shut, happened at Maine road often every club has wankers and unfortunately football violence will be around for ever

I never looked for or wanted trouble. I still got battered by loads of scouse cunts at home and chased around stoke town centre in my younger days. Absolute shite that the fighters only wanted to fight with each other back in the day. Cunts are cunts.
