Manchester City, like Mascherano

There would only Milan Javier Mascherano (27) but also Manchester City Mancini. The Citizen would have made it an offer of 15 million to bring the Argentine transfers this session in England. The Barcelona but at the moment, thanks to the departure of Keita for the Africa Cup of Nations, would retain the player until at least June. Even Mascherano would be to postpone the whole idea in June.

He's a fantastic player, if NDJ is leaving a great replacement. Wouldn't exactly say he is an alternative to De Rossi as he offers less going forward but would still be a great signing.

However he's had bad words about us in the past and blasted us for our 'treatment' of Tevez.

Never in a million trillion years while he uses a certain advisor. If poison Kia is not associated with him, decent player who would make the squad stronger.

Interesting one actually, I think he's been than Busquets but Guardiola obviously thinks Busquets will surpass him. They were rumoured to sell Keita to Milan but nothing has come of that.

He's probably in the top 3 in the world defensively for CDM's but I'm not sure what he's like carrying the ball forward.

What is fantastic about Macherano?

He has the defensive ability and tenacity of De Jong but also doesn't hinder a free flowing attacking team - namely, the best of them all, Barcelona. His positioning is also excellent and he is intelligent, can easily fill in a centre-back as he has at Barca. I'd still rather have an all-rounder like De Rossi who can link up better with attacking players, but if we want a real terrier of a midfielder to replace De Jong (if he's leaving) very few are better than Mascherano.

Would love to have him here.

Not fit to lace DDRs boots IMO. Vastly different players JM is very much a poor mans NDJ !while DDR is more in the Yaya mould. Never seen a player that cost as much as Mascherano hit so many 5 yard sideways passes. A step backwards for me. No thanks.

Well initially I was referring to a deal with De Rossi, which is looking less and less likely to happen. And with that in mind I think Masc is a great alternative for a midfield signing.

They are very different players I know, but both extremely good at what they do. I for one know whom I'd rather have in our squad, Mascherano or De Jong, and he wouldn't be Dutch that's for sure.
Javier is a better defensive mf than De Jong, and in a whole different league when it comes to offensive qualities.

But between DDR and JM I would choose Danile with no hesitiation as we need that kind of player more.
