Massive Rebuild Next Summer - Rate Our Side

This post is primarily a bit of fun.

It's motivated by the obvious fact that we're facing a massive rebuild next summer.

Please don't engage in ad hominem attacks/insults. There's no right answer. It's all about opinion - and I hope this thread results in honest conversation - many of our forum members are expert analyzers.

So here we go:

Categorize our current squad into the following buckets:
S: (Keep no matter what):
A: (World class, extremely reluctant to sell):
B: (P/L Class great player - prefer very much not to sell):
C: (P/L Good, but consider offers):
D: (P/L Average or maybe a bit worse, hoping to sell):
E: (Sub-adequate, past their prime or otherwise a detriment, sell or offer on loan):

As far as I can see we are not going to go buying tons of players in the summer, that then need to get up to speed.

We've done our spending imo, what we're doing now is bedding in those players ready for next season.

We might buy 1 or 2 maybe make a big signing. But it's crucial that the continuity happens, bernardo, akanji, grealush, etc will probably stay to ensure that.
Obvs a few will go through natural wastage, gundog, Kevin, maybe.

So by the end of this season I'm expecting and hoping we are starting to see how we will be next year.

City's owners won't settle for a maybe-top-4 side nor will Pep. We haven't invested enough in our side for 3 or 4 years running - meanwhile our key player are aging and though no fault of their own are getting worse and worse.

Reports indicate that the summer transfer window will indeed be massive if we get our way - with maybe 8+ players transferred and a similar number coming in.

There are still a lot of unknowns regarding the potential of Stones, Akanji, Ake, Rodri, Reis, Echverri, Khusanov, Marmoush and Bobb that might become clearer at the end of the season.

What reports are being cited here? Do they quote Pep, or is it just speculation?

How are Nunes and McAtee in the C bracket??

For a start need to remember 5 arrived in January,plus we have Bobb so 6 new players next season really.
4 need to leave before we start to get the squad numbers down to the required level
Walker, Phillios,Nunes Kovacic probably the easiest.

Need a full back, 1 or 2 midfielders and probably a keeper,
So that requires 3 or 4 more out
Ederson, Grealish, then 1 or 2 of Silva, KDB,Gundogan.
Can’t see un doing much more than that this summer.

How are Nunes and McAtee in the C bracket??

Nunes seems useful at LB - not anywhere near what we want - but at least OK. A useful squad player in this context. Tier C for me.

McAtee - haven't watched a lot of his play so my categorization may be off. But in the games I've watched where he plays, he's scored a bunch of goals.

Anyhow... this thread is for a bit of fun.

Numerous outllets tell me thaat Utd are going to buy every star there is going. I dont believe them as much. I am just going off how we do things and we dont buy 8 players, get rid of 8. I dont think any teaam does that. If we do that though and it works brilliant.
