Masters Football is apparently coming back

I went to one of these at the MEN for the finals night.

A good 50% of the crowd were City and Winter decided to send 2 of our players off in the first half of the first game, from what I can remember nothing.

Killed the entire night, think we ended up pissed and getting behind Oldfield playing for Leicester.

IIRC the Masters was run completely independently of the clubs "supposedly" involved. I can't see City's current hierarchy allowing the new competition to use City's name without permission and financial benefit. I seem to remember Khaldoon mentioning something along these lines a few years ago. If the new version has to have the blessing of the clubs involved I would be surprised if Mills is allowed to represent City. Seeing him again in a Sky Blue shirt would really piss off a lot of us Blues.

It was Cook who criticised the competition and it stopped soon after.

This is now "former players from". Under the old system players didn't get a choice who they played for, Beagrie said he was asked if he wanted to play and then was allocated a club.

Cheers. Thanks for that. I was sure it had been mentioned at some time. I also recall that Wayne Biggins starred for us in the competition. He didn't look much different than his playing days - unlike most of the others !
