I think our match day announcer is quality compared to some of the other ones out there.

I agree, his routine is bordering on the mundane, we badly need someone capable of building up the atmosphere in the ground before the teams come out. A few years ago I worked with the Manchester Storm Ice Hockey team (when they were great) at the MEN arena (then Nynex), we used a guy called Jon Hammond who was a real pro and got everyone going before the game and during the intervals... you have to know how to work the crowd which the current bloke obviously doesn't.

I sit in 127 and can never tell what this bloke is saying, and he is usually right in front of us. Either he needs to go or they should sort the PA system out so he can be heard.
Didnt the Rags announcer used to be ours at Maine Road? Alan Keegan i think he was called? He was ok at Maine Road till i found out he was a dirty Rag!

Although, in his defence, people are usually still streaming in after KO and most go to the concourse at HT.

So its not like everyone is stood around waiting to be goaded into life.

Maybe before we sort the announcer, we should stop serving beer half an hour before kick off, so people aren't finishing off their pints as we kick off..before clambering to their seats. Or maybe we should turn the awful music down so you could actually hear any atmosphere.
