It's not just Motson's commentary, they also missed for some reason Coquelin's tackle which was worthy at least a yellow, and after that he still had some fouls and eventually got his yellow card. Monreal the same, he escaped 2 yellowish tackles. I remember when we played against Everton MOTD was all over Mangala's and Fernando's (admittedly horrendous) fouls, callig for the red etc.

It was correct back then that they mentioned it, but looks the more interesting how they ignore it in some cases.

Once I'd finished rewinding Edin's goal about 10 times, just watched Savage's tirade.........BRILLIANT TV. And the best bit? The caption over the analysis - "Poory Poory Man United" !!!!! Someone is taking the piss big time, love it, well done MOTD

If their shitty long ball style gets them results, and a top four finish, then this hoof and hope nonsense will have worked. Is it a worse style than diving on a regular basis (rags, Arse, Chels and Dippers with the chipmunk)? Is it worse than getting away with snide tackles and elbows (rags and Chels)? Is it worse than the off-pitch tactic of a manager being a complete twunt trying to put pressure on refs (every fucker except us)?
The rags have always been results driven and they don't care how they get them.
Hoofing it long to A&E is boo hiss long ball, but hoofing it long down the sidelines for Goggs, Kanchelskis and various others to chase was somehow a brilliant tactic.
They've been hoofing it long for decades, but they don't analyse games they just count the points. - You'll often see "results matter more than style" from teams fighting relegation. Unfortunately I can't see them slipping that far in the next few years. But I was there when Law scored THAT goal so I've seen it once.
