I'm still completely baffled by Webb's comment that it wasn't offside as the assistant didn't flag but it was a penalty. Well on that logic it wasn't a penalty because the ref didn't give it.

Logic and the cabal of refs we have at the moment are not oft seen together. I don't know how Webb did with his day job but do we need to know any more than South Yorkshire copper? He was a full 24ct knob when he had the whistle and was not known as 'Howie Redshirt' for his total impartiality, and he now seems highly confident at securing even greater stupidity with his 'new career'!
As a point of Law (s of the Game) the three Burnley players were in an offside position and Otters barged one of 'em in the back. The lino should have flagged but we get the bull shine about sun in eyes, and the ref should have given a penalty, which he wouldn't have done had the lino flagged. There is also the point of Law that the referee is sole arbiter of fact! No offside and no pen, therefore, according to Andre Fuckin' Useless Marriner they didn't happen. I'm quite happy with that outcome!

Fuck's sake, deary me... I never watch MOTD but I wanted to see some of the highlights again.
Making a big deal of the penalty where the play should have never been allowed to go on because of offside, and even showing Lowton's quite dangerous foul on Nolito and the comm Pearce saying what a good challenge...

You are making the mistake of trying to apply some logic to the utter claptrap that comes out of Webbs arse. The guy has moved from stealing one living to well er... stealing a living. Like BT he's best ignored.
