After Wigan we said it would be forgotten if we beat Arsenal at Wembley the following weekend. At least that started at 0-0.I gave it a swerve last night/this morning. Seeing it once was enough. To paraphrase a line from "Shawshank"; I feel like I've been fucked by a train. I haven't felt this bad over a defeat in a long time. I thought the gloom after the Wigan cup tie was bad. Not even close to what I'm feeling now.
The only way that second half surrender will be forgotten is if we knock Liverpool out on Tuesday. Just beating them might satisfy those who hanker for the days when heroic failure was sufficient.
