I agree with what you say but why would people realise at any point that the media are setting the narrative - the masses don't realise they're being led by the nose politically so why would they know in a sport and you, being in America, should know that better than most.
My point was that someone IN THE MEDIA might be able to make a bit of a name for themselves by making the intellectual leap, not some kind of end to the mass illusion by mere mortals!

At some point, surely someone will step back, out it all into some context and realize that there is so much bollocks being spewed that it is absolutely disrespectful of what City have already achieved, and are still achieving, this season. Pep has been class, the players have been class, Sterling has highlighted a continuing problem with the game and brought it to the fore, and yet there is literally ZERO RESPECT for what City have done and are seeking to do this season.

The lad Tudor might!! Not a single sole in the RAGDIpperArseHaringeyMeedya would want anything other than a Dipper win. They can't have a Rag title, nor a Tottingham title, they don't want a City title, again, so all the eggs are in the Dipper basket, the chickens are totalling 98, with ne'er a shell cracked! It has been obvious since the dawn of newsprint who they want to win the title a week after the season kicks off. Yer could play football like it's ne'er been played before in the PL, amass the largest total points, score a record number of goals, but their arses will be on another horse. The narrative is as clear as the lounge window of Ewing Towers.

There is only ONE NARRATIVE that the media AND THE PREMIER LEAGUE want, and that is Liverpool winning their first PL. The Asian market will love it, 30th anniversary of Hillsborough, Klopp and heavy metal football, even City and their FFP violations couldn’t stop them, Salah came through yet again, surely his chancer against Chelseais Goal of the Season, VVD has to be POTY, etc, etc, etc.

Last season, we won the last 5 games to win the League with 100pts and completely out of sight of all comers. Had that been United or Liverpool, we would still be hearing about this every week, especially given what we are doing this season. However, beating Chelsea at home (and not 6-0, I might add!) appears to have given everyone the opportunity to crown them Champions this weekend. NBCSN’s Arlo White, perhaps the most OTT hyperbolic commentator ever, immediately called Salah’s goal the Goal of the Season, yet had a 60 pulse and 100/60 blood pressure as Hazard hit the post and fluffed his shot from 7 yards out in the few minutes after that! I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that they did their last Game Day celebration at Boston Red Sox Park (Fenway Sports Group’s home!) and they were dreaming themselves the whole day about Liverpool.

The whole Liverpool love-in has gone so far beyond nauseating, and has now been cranked up to 11. I hope we fucking stuff them for the League and the CL, although we have BY FAR the harder run in, the harder QF draw and second leg, and just as hard of a SF if we get there, not to mention the FA Cup final.

COME ON, CITY!!!
How many times have you heard anyone from the media call us “The Centurions” this season?

Arsenal still get related mentions of “The Invincibles” yet it’s been overlooked that we are the only club to ever get 100 points.

I know Sky actually did a great job (and it has to be said, better than City did) of celebrating our success at the season’s end last year but since this season started and it looked like Liverpool had a genuine shout for the title they and every other media outlet has dismissed us, to a man, and have been running around with their tongues out trying to lick the Kopite ringpiece.

But in all honesty, I’ve always quite liked it being this way. I never really want it to change. I’ve always been anti-mainstream, always been ‘alternative’. I don’t want fake adulation. I want to win and imagine all the bitter ****s squirming, to a man!

Good to see MOTD feature Salah's dive , but Murphy still couldn't bring himself to criticise him, Think they both said he had every right to go down a there was a touch. Fcuk me he should have been booked. Great display for the 96 on the KOP Looking forward to the Juve commemoration . Hate the way this club and supporters have turned a tragedy into a marketing promotion. Bradford, Bolton, Rangers much more class. Where would the dippers be without Hillsborough?

Yet the feral dippers STILL found time to throw flares into the Cheldea end. Injured a 9 year old disabled supporter, I understand.

Liverpool - The City of CULTure.

Even if we win the league but they only lose one match all season, some will declare them the second best team in Premier League history behind Arsenal's Invincibles.

That's despite us setting the record for most points (100) most wins (32) most consecutive wins (18) most away wins (16) most away points (50) most goals scored (106) biggest goal difference (+79) biggest winning margin (19 pts) and earliest title win all in the same season.

shame ive missed that, but im talking about the club the rags n liverpool wouldve rammed it down everyones throats till it bevame part of the build up like arsenal did

I agree totally. But that is probably be ause they are wired that way and have been for generations after dominating when they did.

Maybe were to humble in that respect
