Match of the Day - 2020/21

Ian Wright and the rest of MOTD panel telling it like it is.
Well done to the BBC (don't say that often) for a calm balanced analysis of the decisons. Spot-on that the Ederson one is too difficult to call. It looked like he won the ball on three angles, clipped the Arsenal player on one, and was trodden on in another. The ref made the right call.

MOTD made a complete mockery of BT tonight.

They tried to make it sound like VAR somehow looked at our penalty and didn't even bother looking at Arsenal's. No, they looked at both and decided ours was worth the referee looking at again because Bernardo was clearly fouled (twice) and theirs wasn't worth looking at because either they deemed Ederson to have won the ball or because it was impossible to tell. It's like they were so upset by us possibly running away with the league again that they completely forgot how the system works.

Just watched it on the iPlayer. I'm staggered. They were actually fair to us over both penalty incidents. Even Ian Wright, who you'd imagine would be pissed off at any perceived injustice.

Their post match analysis was fair, but the commentators shouting 'yessss!' when Saka scored was a fair bit more emotive then his response to our goals, including a last minute winner.

His analysis of the two penalty incidents was a bit different too. For theirs he thought surely it was a penalty and should be looked at, for ours he couldn't believe that the ref was going to be asked to look at the monitor.

The three in the studio gave perspective however.
