Given - 6 - Decent game, made some good saves, couple of dodgy kicks and looked suspect on one or two crosses, but nothing to really complain about.

Zabaleta - 7 - Solid as ever, made some good tackles and decent runs forward, made the odd stupid lunge but nothing's changed there.

Toure - 6 - Made me feel uncomfortable everytime the ball went over the top but from a neutral's view he didn't do much wrong.

Kompany - 7 - Beast. Good tackles and headers, few lapses in concentration, but our best defender on the night.

Garrido - 6 - Decent game, better in attack than defense, not looking forward to him playing against better sides

Vieira - 3 - This would have been closer to zero if it wasn't for the assist. Slow to the ball, several poor balls, slowed down a fair amount of attacks. Absymal.

De Jong - 5 - Ineffective, wasn't really his fault his job is to break up the play which he did well but the lack of creative midfield forced him to him to a more forward-thinking role that he couldn't work with. Attacking midfielder needed!

SWP - 4 -I hope it's a lull in form but he hasn't seemed right for a while now. Never skinned a man all half, seems to have lost his pace, would be a shame for him to disappear just as we reach some success.

Johnson - 8 - Superb second half, some great crosses, didn't lose the ball often, skinned his man a few times and even chipped in with a few tackles.

Adebayor - 6 - Poor first touch, but the effort was there he just needs a few more games to get his fitness back.

Bellamy - 7 - Helped in attack and defense, won tackles, got past his man and battled as always.

Tevez - 10 - As Guardiola said of Messi the other week 'I've ran out of superlatives'

Can't believe you all gave Bellamy so many, thought he did sod all Vieira also deserved more he picked out three through balls and yes at times his mind wants to do more than his body but to give Bellamy twice as much is a nonsense

dejong is there to get the ball off opponents and pass to a player who
does the creative stuff, unfortunately we ain't got one at the moment.

really don't get all the viera bashing. gives the ball away too much, but it usually happens when he's playing positively, so the opponents are normally going backwards and can't really make anything out of it. he is too slow, but he's a big asset defending in the air, and generally I'd much prefer to see him trying and failing, than people who are afraid to make mistakes going back into their shells, passing it negatively, dropping deeper, then giving the ball away.

Nah... I think Bellamy had a positive influence on the game for the time he was on. He was direct and went forward at every opportunity. His work rate was excellent and it looked like he really wanted it. Ok not every run or pass ended with a goal but his contribution was good.

Vieira unfortunatlely made as many bad passes as good passes, some forward passes, including the assist were quality but against the top teams we would have been punished tonight for some very sloppy play!

Not much to do

Zab -6
Did ok. Not great at passing but at least looks to pass forwards

Toure -6
Dithered on the ball as usual. Looks best when going forward. I'd play him RB when Lescott is fit.

Kompany -7
Classy player with another solid performance.

Garrido -6
Did ok.

Vieira -5
Tires far too easily to start games. His vision and ability to pick out a through ball (already has a few assists) would benefit the team better coming off the bench when teams are tired. Mancini seems to be keen to give him 90mins in the hope that he'll benefit from it... but looks like false hope to me. Made some terrible passes and lost the ball too easily too many times but looked to pass the ball forwards. If Vieira is to play he needs to play alongside Barry or ireland. He needs runners from midfield - not De Jong sat behind him.

De Jong -5
Normal game from De Jong. Got in the odd sliding tackle but offered nothing else. Kompany is the better defensive midfielder of the 2. For me De Jong wouldn't play if we had better centre backs ...or 2 Kompanys!

SWP -5
Muscled out of the game. Plays better against the top teams when we're reliant on the counter attack more.

Johnson -7
Showed more of his -dare I say it- Giggs-esque trickery. Seems happier playing on the right and it showed when he switched there.

Adebayor -6
Looked rusty but did quite well and worked hard (

Tevez -9
Scored a Hat-trick, looked dangerous whenever he got the ball and as ever worked himself into the ground. One criticism would be that his passing lets him down at times tho... should have played SWP through in the first half.

Bellamy -6
Pace scared Wigan but cut inside too much and missed golden opportunity.

I think your all being a tad harsh on Vieira, he was 'OK' made a few decent passes but yeah he did lose the ball more often than he won it.
de Jong however was our worst midfielder of the night, totally inaeffective.

Given - 6 - Very little to do.
Zabaleta - 7 - Good game, energetic, defended well enough and added to attacks.
Toure - 6 - Liability but managed to stay quiet throughout.
Kompany - 8 - Defensive masterclass and didn't put a foot wrong all game, even got the assist to Tevez's second.
Garrido - 6 - Defensively quite poor but tried hard and attacked fairly well.
De Jong - 6 - Broke up the game occasionally and did so without fuss.
Vieira - 5 - Gave the ball away far too much and looks to have lost all mobility and energy.
Johnson - 7 - Attacked Wigan's defence well and showed good intent when on the ball. Tried to make things happen but was a little too predictable at times.
SWP - 5 - Went aimlessly into the channels every time and was duely manhandled without picking up a foul.
Adebayor - 6 - Worked very hard off the ball and his availability was good but his link up play was lacking and he didn't effect the game at all.
Tevez - 9 - The only player who you expected to do something when he got on the ball, constantly running at players and terrorising the entire Wigan backline, he was the focal point of every City attack and his three goals were no more than he deserved.
