I really want Gomez to do well but he just doesn’t seem good enough.

Gomez is really good at the role of full left back where you don't have to defend much.
His runs and crosses are excellent. Other than that, his defense is non existent and playing the way Pep wants him to play today, well he doesn't have it.

Absolutely 100% will never reach Foden's level. I'd put my house on it. Midtable PL team at best.

When we say Fodens level, do we mean ability to come off the bench?

Thats Fodens level at the moment, so let's not pretend there's a huge gulf between the two, given their relative age and experience.

When a manager starts such an obvious B team they suck out all the motivation. Everyone knows he’s already made his mind up about the final team and no one wants their chance of coming off the bench getting ruined by an injury.

The core, yes. However I’d argue there were 2 attacking players in with a small but fighting chance if they’d done something special in the 3 league run-in games: Mahrez and Foden. Plus one defensive slot not set in stone.

Watching this on a Brazilian stream, they're not really feeling this one either! Got the villa - Brighton game in background, more entertaining!

When I google the current scores, the algorithm reckons any score draw is exciting, rather than actual situation, so games at stretford, Chelsea and Saints are exciting, whereas Leicester being 1-0 up against the hammers isn't!

Anyway we ain't playing the best but we ain't playing the worst!
