yeah, cheers for that I used to be an A-Level Maths teacher but I always had problems with simple addition, so can you explain why the extra time clock show that we'd played +10 mins of time added on when they only added 5 on?

Extra time clock was probably wrong. The ref whistled just after 5 minutes.
