The frustrating thing is, he’s shown in the odd games that he can be absolutely brilliant. There has barely been anyone who has put in a performance like that one he put in against Leicester last season. And I’d argue that he’s got the best first touch in the league.

So it begs the question, why does he choose to play with lack of enthusiasm so often?

It’s a mindset.

He’s probably more talented than Bernado, skill wise, Bernado is just smarter and works harder... B actually wants it.. Mahrez only does occasionally

That last goal highlights what we lose with Mahrez when they know he can't make that pass like Gundy and cuts back on his left. He's cut back 8/9 times so far where we may have had 2/3 more of those crosses. Too predictable.
