Match Thread - Chelsea V City (2nd leg FA Youth Cup)

I think that they are putting a lot more effort in by the midfielders getting back to defend and sealing up the gaps. Looks like our best hope would be that they knacker themselves with 20 minutes to go.

That doesn't work when you're 2 down. If they'd kept it 0-0 and just kept possession while Chelsea pressed themselves to exhaustion then they could have tried to exploit it.

They press like hound dogs and the physicality is too much for us. We need to move the ball quicker and get Chelsea turned.

In that case how do you pick the ones that get a chance?
Most matches they play follow a similar pattern to the first team against weaker opposition, the players that shine the most in those games i suppose.

I'd suggest Diaz is first in line at the moment, he has the most experience, made his debut already and is a bit older and more mature (as a footballer).

So you turn up against the poorer academy teams but not the better ones and you get a chance in the first team. Ok.

Just think about how fucking stupid that sentence is.

"Oh so you turned up in every single game (Including when you beat Chelsea a month ago) except one , when everyone else struggled as well. sorry you don't deserve a chance"

The physicality of Chelsea's team reminds me of this conversation I had about the USA's national team (I don't live there), but in the US the vast majority of physical athletes go into Basketball or American Football, with their Soccer being not a big go to. If they took it seriously, considering their population, they could find alot of genetic freaks to bring up in academies and have a much better team than they do now.

I'll be amazed if they can turn this round, despite the decent finish to the first half, we'll press they'll pick us off.

Simply put, they are the superior team, and its quite disappointing, none of ours are anywhere close to first team football imho.
