Mixed bag really. Played well going forwards on the wing but we've been a bit careless with the ball playing out from defence and in midfield. Defence has been ok but Lewis looks a bit of a weak link defensively (though he's generally been ok on the ball) and I wonder if we might bring Ake on and move Akanji to RB. I'd prefer if KDB and Bernardo didn't charge forward so much (when we don't have the ball) leaving big gaps behind them.

Sharpen up our passing and get Savio and Doku on the ball as much as possible and we should win this.

Worth noting that Rico has probably been our best defender, after all that nonsense in the lead up to the match about him needing to start on the bench to avoid us being defensively vulnerable.

Weird performance. Even less intensity than we saw in the pre-season games. Going forward it results in very little being created but to show a lack of intensity defensively too is so bizarre and very worrying, Chelsea could have scored a hat full that half.

Kovacic is actually having a really great game probably the best player in city blue but he's not a 6 and never will be. If that's our solution to no Rodri we aren't making it 5 in a row.

Akanji has been so unbelievably slow on the ball, taking 10 seconds to release it and putting us in trouble constantly.

The wingers have looked really dangerous but it's like they've been instructed not to cross it under any circumstances. Savinho in particular has had so many chances to get a ball in and just flat out refused to do it. Haaland will feast here if we give him some bloody service.

Bernardo is too high up the pitch, he needs to be sat next to kovacic and Kevin infront not kovacic behind them both, all 3 will improve with that switch.

Expected to look largely unready but not in thalways we have done that half. Rocket up their arse at half time and foden, walker and stones to come on second half if there's no upturn in performance.
