I cannot remember Cancelo or Mendy passing forward more than once or twice all half. What happened to our attacking fullbacks?

Cancelo was at his best when he was moving into the midfield and giving the opposition something to think about. In recent weeks, he has been playing more traditionally and as much as I love him, he just doesn’t look the same player.

Sterling and Torres have been desperately short of supply.Singling them out is harsh.

Feel like we are guilty these days of giving way too much credit when players do some nice things. We lavish them with superlatives...

We go well over the top when players play well and when they play poorly.

We make out some players are the second coming of Garrincha when they make one completed pass, then claim some players are worse than Jamie Pollock when they make a defensive mistake.

The elephant in the room is that while people go on about our amazing squad, there is an obvious and immediate drop off when Foden, Bernie, Gundo and Zin don't play.

Cancelo is no longer bothering to join up in midfield, while Mendy accumulates ten minutes deciding who to throw to.

I'm giving Southgate too much credit, but if he's watching Sterling of late, he's not even making his squad, never mind keeping Phil out of the starting line up?
